Colorado Grand: 1972 Plymouth Fury Gran Sedan

g1

It’s a Fury Gran Sedan Brougham in Grand Junction! The blackwall tires, industrial color paint and plain wheel covers disguise somewhat of a sleeper here. With a 400 V-8, air conditioning and a pretty decent interior, I think this car is due for a visual wake-up; maybe some new wheels? Regardless, if you’re interested in an early 70’s large sedan, this is worth looking at. Thanks to frequent finder Jim S. for this one! It’s located in Grand Junction, Colorado and is listed here on eBay with a buy-it-now of $3,300 and bidding just over $2,000.

Love the hidden headlights

I love the hidden headlights and the six-way power driver’s seat. The engine looks pretty clean–is that a new A/C compressor? The seller describes some rust by the back window that you can just see in the detail pictures and a few other spots down low, but overall this is a pretty solid car for not a lot of money. Would you leave this one stock, or make it grand?

This is the time, historically, that I was lecturing my father on how all new cars are alike and it’s only cars from the ’50s and older that have personality!

I personally thought the Plymouths & Dodges from this era were ugly as dirt when they were new. Guess the design has aged well though. So much better than NOW, when all new cars look alike! ^_^

You used to see these cars at demolition derbies.

Mopar C-bodies eat miles as magnificently as they eat gas. The perfect police cruiser. Half the steel in Detroit in that

“I think this car is due for a visual wake-up; maybe some new wheels?”

Certainly not. That would be an insult when so few exist in such original “unmolested” condition. It would also be a shame after having survived this long without receiving the boy-racer treatment. Rather than destroy its time capsule appeal, buy something already modified or in poor shape if you want to play games with it.
