In the world of custom auto creations, some attempts seem to come out better than others, and in the case of this 2009 Dodge Charger made into a truck, the results are sort of middle-of-the-road in my humble opinion.  But if you’re in search of a one-of-a-kind attention-getter with a Hemi under the hood, this one should meet all those goals plus it might end up actually being affordable, since so far bidding has only reached $4,100 and there’s no reserve, but of course, it ain’t over til it’s over.  The Charger Truck can be spotted here on eBay, and it’s located in Joppa, Maryland, should you wish to go check out the Dodge in person.

The Charger started out with a pretty strong pedigree, as it was previously said to be a police car and probably a good one at that for running down those bad guys on the road.  It’s got the 5.7 liter Hemi under the hood that’s claimed to fire right up when you start it, with the mileage listed as 131k.  Under ordinary circumstances, maybe that’s not really excessive traveling under the car’s belt, but being a law-enforcement cruiser in a past life the powerplant may have racked up some tough pavement during its days on the force.  We don’t get a whole lot of details regarding this but the seller does mention that the vehicle runs and drives plus the tires have like-new tread remaining.

As far as the conversion goes, the owner says the transformation was made professionally, but the specifics are a little sparse here too so we’ll have to let the pictures speak for themselves.  There seem to be a few imperfections here and there, plus there’s no information about what kind of condition any of the components were in before the project was begun either, but overall I’d say at a minimum it’s a respectable effort and for sure a good head-turner.  I actually thought that may have been gray primer at first glance, but the seller says it’s painted, just a dull sheen.  The black Super Bee strip around the bed quarters is a fun touch.

What’s remaining of the interior looks basically stock, with the rear seats removed of course to make way for that bed out back which is said to be of aluminum construction, complete with tie-downs for storage.  This one’s nicely optioned as well, with power and heated leather seats that seem to still be in good condition, so they’re probably comfortable no matter what season you’re using your Charger like an El Camino.  If you’re intrigued, the seller says he’s welcoming offers and lists a phone number to call, so if you catch him on a good day maybe you two can strike up a deal.  What are your thoughts on this Charger-turned-pickup?
