You don’t normally see one-of-1,000 cars blessed with the performance genius of Carroll Shelby popping up as tired drivers on eBay. But that’s exactly what you’ll get with this 1987 Shelby GLHS, which represents a final batch of Shelby-modified Mopars that the man himself tweaked to his liking during the turbocharged heyday of econobox Chryslers. This Shelby GLHS was used as a daily driver before being retired and is listed here on eBay with one bid to $1K.

The seller notes it will run with a battery, but needs a tune-up. The whole listing reads like the GLHS was used as daily transport, then parked it when either boredom set in or it got too expensive to maintain as a grocery getter. Thankfully, the Turbo 1 drivetrain is fairly easy to find OEM / replacement parts for, so performing a basic tuneup shouldn’t be an issue. Fixing that paint fade, however, may require outside professional help.

I actually think the bigger challenge ahead of the next owner isn’t the tune-up but the deep cleaning the Shelby desperately needs. The interior is downright filthy, which is surprising to see given how many collectors cherish these cars and keep them in mint condition. I actually think there’s an opportunity here for the next owner to perform a high-level detailing and have a car that will either appreciate slightly or be a great flip candidate.

Of course, the paint may be past the point of salvation with just a detail – what is going on with that nose panel? The seller notes a few different body issues, including a damaged front valence from a run-in with a curb. The passenger door is stuck shut, as is the rear hatch. A “little rust” is noted under the driver’s feet in the Sheby’s pedal box area, but pictures don’t show anything too frightening. Is this Shelby-ized Charger worthy of rescue?
