Estate Sale Finds: Multiple Mopars For Sale

When is it an estate sale versus just selling off your stash of projects? Not sure, but the craigslist ad says it’s an estate sale somewhere outside Los Angeles with several interesting Mopar projects in the mix. Most of them are trucks, but this 1971 Plymouth Road Runner is up for grabs and the seller claims it is a matching numbers example with a 383 paired to a 4-speed. Find the complete listing here on craigslist.

This truck is listed as a 1966 Dodge 500 1.5 ton Military-spec flatbed with a lift gate. Evidently still wearing its base colors, the 500 clearly hasn’t moved in some time – but also doesn’t appear to be rusty. You have to love the details on these, like the curved windshield glass and deep fenders. The flatbed isn’t the most interesting design, but it does leave plenty of room for adding a tow boom, stake body or custom camper conversion.

This is one of the projects the seller was able to start before the collection sell-off began. It’s listed as a 1934 International pickup with a flat-head six cylinder. The seller notes all of the parts are included to finish the truck, including the “…sweeping fenders” as seen resting in the truck bed. Style was a big selling point with these, as Classic Driver points out:  “The C-1 shared features that were common with cars of the era, including clamshell front fenders, a vee’d grille, and a modestly canted windshield.”

On the more modern side, the seller has also listed a 1986 Dodge 350 4×4 Power Wagon with a flatbed that’s been further modified with a 318 engine under the hood. Someone sure had a thing for flatbeds, didn’t they? This is clearly a work truck, not a restoration candidate, but the increased displacement is certainly appreciated along with the knobby off-road tires. Nothing here is going to go for a tremendous amount of money, which makes it even more worthwhile to check out in person.

A good percentage of estate sales are the result of people having to sell off the bulk of what they own, including the house, to move into assisted living.

Increased displacement on the 350? Wasn’t the 318 the smallest engine you could buy?

I’ve told people that I’m having a pre-estate sale. If I don’t sell this stuff my wife will kill me.
