Finding an unmodified and solid 1930 Ford Model A Coupe is getting to be a bit of a challenge these days. Many of these cars have been chopped, channeled or modified in some way, but Reader Ben B found this complete and uncut Model A Coupe. He had plans for this Ford, but he is unable to finish it, so he has to let it go. You can find it in Hollister, California and you can contact Ben via the form below!
From Ben – I found this all original and rust-free Coupe in a barn in California. I took the body down to the bare metal and to my amazement, I didn’t find any dents or Bondo. The fenders have some small dents and the engine is not currently running. The motor was rebuild in the ’60s or ’70s, so it probably needs refreshing. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have a title. I’m selling it due to medical reasons.
How difficult it is to get a title for this Model A will depend on the state you live in, so be sure to research what that will require before making an offer. Given that it’s nearly 90 years old, it really isn’t surprising that the title is gone. They didn’t issue titles in 1930 and since the chassis number is under the body, when these were issued titles, they tended to use the engine number. And that can cause lots of headaches when the original engine is missing. Ben provided a photo of the engine number so that you can do your research. Given how complete and original this car is, it would be a shame to hot rod it, but that might actually make it easier to get a title for it.
This has to be one of the cleanest unrestored 1930 Model A we’ve seen in a while. Getting it going again is going to be some work, but it looks like you could slap some black paint on it, replace the upholstery, install new wheels/tires and hit the road! The flathead 4-cylinder is as simple as it gets and as long as it has compression, it should run without much work. Of course, it would also make for a great start for a hot rod project. So, which would it be for you?

Love the five window hate the price!!!!
Nice car but it’s going to cost more than ten five to do the bodywork and paint alone.
Seller needs to realize – a Model A is not a Packard or Duesenberg. He has a nice $2500 – $3000 car
Nice car, but it is not worth anywhere what he is asking. Not running and NO title. You can buy a nice running car with a title for $10K. Perhaps the owner bought it before the market crashed on these and has a lot of money in it. Hopefully he will become “educated” and let it go to a new home .
Over priced
Nice $2000.00 car. Oh needs paint.
hi Joshua, my name is Justin I was wondering if the model A is still available?
