EXCLUSIVE: 1955 Plymouth Savoy Club Sedan

UPDATE 7/22/2019 – Thomas has decided to drop his asking price to $9,750 or best offer. So take a closer look and make him an offer via the contact form below!

FROM 7/11/2019 – Reader Thomas R has decided that it’s time to part ways with this beautiful Plymouth Savoy Club Sedan. When Plymouth launched the redesigned Savoy in ’55, they advertised that it had the “100-million-dollar look”. It sure is a great looking design. Thomas has done a ton of work to this one over the years, more or less giving it a full restoration. I’ll let him tell you about what all he’s done to it ad the car’s overall condition below. He’s asking $10,500 or best offer and the car is located in Angels Camp, California.

Body Condition: Body is in good condition but could use a fresh paint job as there are some scratches and small dings with paint getting thin. I had it repainted years ago. The factory color was green. I replaced and repaired the floors along with new L/R rockers, Dynamatted roof, floors, firewall, and re-chromed front and rear bumpers. Could use some repairs to the trunk and rear valance, but they are not too bad. New interior and carpet. New Coker wide whitewall tires, a small crack in the left lower part of the windshield, and all window rollers work well.

Mechanical Condition: Runs great! Has a new carb, new starter, new generator, new water pump, and hoses. Also installed a new electronic ignition with new plugs and wires. Still retains its original 6-volt system. All gauges, signals, and lights working. The 3-on-the-tree manual transmissions shifts well and it has good brakes.

This Savoy really is a beautiful car and Thomas sure has done a ton of work to it! You don’t come across these Club Sedans often and his asking price seems fair given the car’s rarity and condition. If you’d love to make him an offer and make it yours, be sure to message him via the form below.

This would definitely be an eye catcher where Fords and Chevys are more common. Kind of surprised me when I saw the flatty six. Still a nice car.

Definitely surprised me with the flat six. But, here we go again, no underside pics. Looks great on the outside. But, I would have to put in a newer Mopar 8, (doesn’t have to be a monster), new brakes, sound system?, a/c (definitely, here in mid Atlantic), thinking 5 speed trans. Now we’re getting really cool. Basically, I really like this car and would love to do some extra work on it.

MAN ! This caught my eye. My older brother’s friend had the twin to this one when I started high school in 1959. One of the sharpest cars in Regina in those old days.

A poor man’s 49 Merc look to it but it is still an excellent deal in that it does not cost what a Merc would cost, yet, if you parked beside the 49 Merc crowd at a car show they would still talk to you, methinks.

This car is 16 miles from me. Grab a couple beers and we’ll head on over. VFW hall on the way home. Road trip.

I have always like the style of these, particularly the dash. The car is only a couple of hours drive from me. And the price seems fair. (no pictures of the things needing attention) But too may things (projects) going on here right now.
I would like to have it.

Is this car still for sale? If so, I am surprised. I would like to have it. But, this being me second Reply,…I am curious. If so, I would not be able to meet his asking price. Not with all the work needed.
