EXCLUSIVE: 1969 Cadillac DeVille Convertible

This clean driver-quality Caddy belongs to one of our readers, but they have decided it’s time to let it go. This triple white luxury yacht is showing some wear, but has been stored in an air-conditioned storage facility. It’s located in Atlanta, Georgia and they are asking $11k. You can contact David via email here if interested. Thanks for running this one with us Dave! If any of you have a classic that you are thinking about selling, please considering listing it here as an Exclusive before trying elsewhere. It’s free to get your car featured and we only charge if we find you a buyer.

The odometer reads 110,000 miles and the 472 V8 is said to run great. With some detailing, I bet this thing could look killer. These were high quality machines so as long as there isn’t any rust or dents, the painted surfaces should clean up.

The interior could also benefit from some scrubbing. The white leather should shine again with some conditioner and elbow grease.

This classic Cadillac could make someone a comfortable (and thirsty) daily driver or it could be tucked away in the garage for those warm summer evenings and parade days. The asking price may seem high at first glance, but some investigation proves that it’s priced about right. Take a look and let us know what you think about this big beautiful bomb.

Great looking old Caddy, these things are really classy looking, good luck with the sale. I gotta say though when I first looked I could picture boss Hogg sitting in the back lol.

Is this one the same year as Boss Hogg’s Caddy? Gotta have the right outfit to drive this car.

No, Boss Hoggs’ vehicle was a 1970 DeVille Convertilble. Very similar but the front and rear ends were tweaked by Cadillac’s designers between the two years, along with the interiors. To this car’s credit, it is ‘factory correct’ in details and all the appropriate trim pieces are present and the chrome looks nice (and straight).

This could totally be a daily driver. The engine & Turbo 400 are very understressed, and parts are generally easy to get. This car should cruise at 90 all day and turn in mid teens gas mileage. I miss my ’65 like crazy, and it wasn’t even a convertible!

I remember mine well. 1968 maroon with white top and interior. It was a great car, smooth and quite. It wasn’t a daily driver because of the gas mileage, but we looked forward to our weekend trips when the weather cooperated. Only took it out on top down days, why else would you buy a soft top?

City driving fuel economy was terrible. Get the big thing moving on the highway and stay out of the 4 barrel, it was fairly economical. You absolutely could not beat the comfortable ride!

The automatic climate control is a engineering nightmare. What a complicated pile of crap! It did what it wanted and would go from hot to cold to defrost then vents whenever it wants.
Still a great powerful car that I enjoyed.

Reminds me of Boss Hogg’s car from The Dukes of Hazard

It’s in Atlanta so this probably is Boss Boggs ride, Lu Lu Hogg moved from Hazzard after Boss died now she has to sell it to eat.

I thought she owned Lu Lu Lemon (with what my daughter has spent there I’m sure she is eating fine, probably could have this whole car gold plated)

I’d be pretty curious to see if that 11K price holds up. Here’s why: I know of a dead-nuts 32K mile example of this car stored in a garage. That car is black exterior, black top, RED interior, and it’s just about perfect. But it hasn’t run (or moved even) in probably 10+ years.

Rex, that car is gonna need about 2-3k in work before it rolls again if it has sat that long…….I’d be all over that car (great colors) for $5-6K

Thanks Ron. Your figures jive with mine pretty close. I think 3k in repairs would be about the minimum. The 5-6k price point seems spot on, even as nice as the car is.

I had a 68 white convertible with red interior, which I loved.

Only car I’ve ever seen with three cigarette lighters. (Two in the back.) What a beast.

If this were just a few years older, with the stacked headlights, and on the other coast I’d be all in at that price. Seems a touch high at $11K. Do we get the 11 cents thrown in?

This looks like a great ride. I am looking for one of these but with the exchange on the Canadian dollar, it is out of reach. I have a lovely heated garage with an empty spot.
