I worked with a fellow who bought an ’83 ElCam, a blue two-tone. Every bit of paperwork he received on the car (including the window sticker) indicated it was a V6, but learned it was a V8 soon after. Thought he had stuck a fat hog in the a$$

Best of luck with the sale, Don—this is a beauty! I learned to drive in an ’87 El Camino (not an SS, but it did have the 305), and I have a serious soft spot for these.

Very nice. These were called Choo Choo El Caminos. Wish I had the cash to buy her. Sweet.

Choo choo Caminos were after market body kits out of Chattanooga TN. The kit was a simular nose but a matching ground effects kit that changed the stance on any Camino this vintage. Stacy David built one on his show trucks. He marketed it as so you weren’t lucky enough to get a SS, well check this out…..

This is NOT a Choo Choo custom. They had nothing to do with the SS package.

The plastic nose was a ship through upfit. The upfitter was Choo Choo customs of Chattanooga, TN ( Coker Tire/Honest Charlie’s)

FINALLY a cool car that doesn’t appear to need anything and actually has a realistic and reasonable price. Maybe there is still hope.

That is one sweet SS Elco. Probably one of the cleanest I’ve seen in a long, long time. Great job of taking care of her, and best of luck with the auction.
