Farm And Ranch Special: 1969 Ford F100

The Ford F-Series of trucks needs no introduction as one of the more versatile and most recognizable names to have ever graced the market, with even the basic models having plenty to offer for the working man.  But over the years, Ford made available a few option packages that were already designed for a buyer’s specific needs, such as their Trailer Special which included a tow hitch, transmission cooler, and a trailer brake controller.  Another was the Farm And Ranch Special, such as this one for sale here on Craigslist.  The pickup is located on the West Coast in Watsonville, California, with the asking price set at $12,000.  Numskal, thanks a lot for reading Barn Finds and sending in your excellent tip here!

The seller mentions that the Farm And Ranch Special is the rarest of Ford’s series of custom trucks, and even though I couldn’t locate any specific production numbers it does seem to be somewhat elusive in the F-Series market these days.  We don’t get a whole lot of information regarding the pickup’s background, but overall the body appears reasonably straight and it’s got a pretty cool patina all the way around too.  We also get this one shot from the undercarriage, which seems to show a sound platform down below.

Ford’s 360 V8 can be found under the hood, with the seller confident regarding its dependability as he uses the pickup every weekend and says it’s a turn key driver.  Some fresh maintenance includes a carb rebuild, a new distributor, new points plus a condenser, along with a new radiator and dual electric fans to help keep things cool.  This one’s also equipped with a 4-speed manual transmission, though no word on whether or not the clutch has received any recent attention.

Things are very clean on the inside, and I’m really liking the red and black combo here.  The seat and door panels all appear to be in decent shape, and hopefully, that dash cover is just in place for protection and isn’t hiding any blunders.  I understand it will be entirely up to the next owner to decide what to do with this one, and I get that a fresh paint job may be in the near future.  But I find myself appreciating the appearance as it is now, and would probably just enjoy driving this pickup for a while before doing anything.  What would you do?
