This is a short one, but if you have been needing parts for your 1984 Nissan 720 pickup and you’re in the Mendocino, California area, you’re in luck. This ’84 Nissan 720 truck is listed here on craigslist with an asking price of $0.00. Zip. Ziltch. Nada. Nothing at all. It’s free, in other words. Just come and haul it away. Thanks to J Liu for sending in the tip on this free truck!
Yes, there is only one photo, unfortunately. Apparently, when you’re giving away an entire vehicle you don’t want to spend a lot of time marketing it. Free is free, take it or leave it. Shipping costs would kill this deal unless there are absolutely no parts trucks where you live and you need what looks like quite a few good parts on this one. But still, it’s best if you live in northern California. There isn’t much to say here but hey, it’s not every day that someone gives away a vehicle even if it is just for parts. Have any of you driven great distances to pick up a free parts vehicle? If so, what was it?
If I still had my early 720, and lived nearby, I would be over there this morning with a trailer and aired-up tires. My 83 needed a new metal roof, damaged from a fallen branch, the center dash escutcheons along with the tailgate and one whole side of the bed. I hope someone puts this to use. The motor would transfer well into a Sprite or Midget.
My next door neighbor had an old Chevy truck in his back yard. 1980 I believe. Been sitting for 12 years. In 2010 he gave it to my 16,year old son. Free to just haul it off for scrap.
In one day my son had it running. Over the years restored it nicely and still uses it as a backup for his business. I don’t think he’d ever sell it. So you never know
Very cool. Good on your son.
I love stories like that, Bill. Very cool, indeed!
More folks should do that, get rid of the junk and give a kid something to learn to wrench on. They get rid of an eye sore, and nothing motivates an unlicensed youth like a car to work on. It’s a win /win situation.
i know this is an old listing but you still got the truck, I live in utah but for the price i would consider driving out there. drove out to washington for the 85 i’m driving now
Hi John. I know of one not for free though.
