The low-mileage DeLoreans just keep coming! With 38k on the clock, this one actually seems like it has actually been used a bit. That can be a good thing if you actually want to drive your classic because sitting is actually worse on a car than moving. The seller of this one states that they love their DeLorean and even drive it on a daily basis. My kind of guy! Anyway, this 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 is located in Miami, Florida and is listed for sale here on eBay with about a day left.
Finding a low-mileage DeLorean is not that hard, but locating one that is ready to drive can be a challenge. This one has an automatic transmission too and although I prefer manual, I can almost see why someone would want their supercar with a slushbox.
What if you’ve just had knee surgery? Maybe you want more comfort during the stop and go of your commute? Or dare I say it, you don’t know how to drive stick? Wait, you should probably go back and learn that step before even contemplating a car like this.
Not that this is some high-powered beast though. The V6 mounted mid-ship was developed as a joint venture between Peugeot, Renault, and Volvo. Not exactly the first names that spring to mind when you think of high-performance. That’s alright though because the DeLorean’s stainless steel skin and gull-wing doors are more about looking cool than going fast. Just keep reminding yourself that it came out of the same mind that dreamed up the Pontiac GTO!
I like the looks of these cars but would not own one because I hate the gulf wing doors. I’m 6′ and I’m sure I would bang my head on a daily basis getting in and out of the car. Nice find but not for me.
It is amazing to see most of these cars hardly used. I wonder if these doors are the reason. Or maybe overall these Delorians are uncomfortable to drive.
I knew a guy who had one.. the car is posing as a sports car… he was a phony too.
I own one and am 6′. Actually pretty comfortable to drive. Automatic brings a few thousand less, but I wouldn’t turn one down based on your height. This is one of the most fun driving car I’ve owned. Not to mention that I catch at least 10 people taking pictures of it every time i put it on the road. I’ve driven Lamborghinis and have gotten less attention than I have in this timeless automobile!
If the Back To The Future flicks featured a different car, these would be long forgotten.
I see nothing exciting at all about these cars.
