Although some of the cars we share aren’t the firing breathing big block monsters we all wish for, they are still sweet rides on their own like this ’68 Nova. Factory equipped with a V8 and air conditioning, at least this Nova would be a comfortable classic. Considered a grandma car, this Nova is very solid and original. The opening bid on this Nova is $5,500. Be sure to check it out here on eBay out of Irmo, South Carolina.
Although a 307 V8 isn’t the most exciting of finds, at least this engine is equipped with air conditioning. The air is not currently working but is in place in its entirety. Considered to be a good driver, this Nova likely needs little other than some tune up and maintenance checks. The 307 is backed by a power glide which is plenty comfy for this driver. I would opt to repair the air conditioning, and enjoy as is. Although for those of you that are power hungry, I imagine a larger displacement swap could be an option as well.
Despite the weathered exterior, the interior is surprisingly very nice. The only draw backs to the interior are the missing door panel arm rest/door pulls, and a cut in the headliner. The dash is virtually a work of art at this point as it appears without any flaw. With a little bit of interior work, this Nova would be basically pristine inside. Plus the 8 track player is much needed bonus in this Chevy!
The 10 foot appearance isn’t too shabby on this Nova with the worst being the visible surface rust. This Nova would be stunning with a fresh paint job and the interior spruced up. Thankfully the body appears nice and straight with no evidence of rot, at least on the exterior body panels. A light weight restoration would really make this 4 door Nova a beauty that would be sure to be appreciated at car events. Are you a fan of this 4 door Nova?
I’ve always like novas. but this one without the paint kinda makes me sad. any way it is still a great car to get Grocery. 😂
Don’t get me wrong i love Nova’s, but i just can’t stand 4 doors. I would generally consider a 4 door a parts car but this car is too nice and that puts it in a awkward position, at least for me. Here is a picture of my fathers SS396 Nova
This body style might be the ONLY 1 that today’s younger drivers would want.
I wonder if you “knew someone” at the dealer, could you get a nova 4 door back then with the 300 hp 350, or the big block.
This is what you looked for when the leaves started to turn in Wisconsin. I am still laughing at this price!
If this car was $2500 it would be worth it to me. I think this would be cool with an LS swap, a Tremec, the biggest brakes you could fit behind those wheels and a chassis package. I wouldn’t change a thing in the looks department keep it a sleeper.
This is a great, practical car!! Rebuild engine and tranny, upgrade brakes, clean it, maintain it and enjoy years of reliability and fun… to say nothing about new conversations. Heh, heh. (Smiling)
I’m a fan of the car but the price just seems awfully high. I can’t say I’d want to pay $3000.00 but that would be my top dollar.
After painting it, replacing the armrests,
the heafliner, adding an AM/FM radio and
sorting the mechanicals, I’d just drive it.
These weren’t the most exciting cars on
the road, but they served their purpose
well and would run forever with just a
little maintainance. Here’s your chance
to enter the hobby at a reasonable price.
Not a sedan fan.
Price too high
4-door Novas have always been a tad too frumpy for my taste…but!!!!! It’s got an 8-track player and V-8. They might balance out on the cool tabulation.
Too pricey for a four door and not crazy about them but it would make a great sleeper!
When I met my wife in ’72 she had a Nova like this with the stove bolt 6
and 2 speed tranny. Her father had picked it out and bought it for her to get her to work every day, which it did flawlessly until 1983 when it started giving problems and was replaced by a 4door Chevette. The Nova went to a friend’s son who wrecked it through abuse….the Chevette is still going.
Well like I have said before in other featured cars, I have moved as far ahead in car years as I am going to go, I have a 2002 with 164K on it, when it gives out or reaches 200k (which ever comes first) I am going to go BACK in time to something like this nova. A 68-75 nova, Buick skylark, olds omega, something along those lines, can be stock V-8 or 6cyl. automatic, with A/C or else I will have it installed. No more sensors to go bad, I can get antique plates for it and full coverage insurance for about $120. a year, no more state inspection. emission etc. The price is a little high on this one and there have been some other similar ones on BF somewhat lower but it’s still a nice find. I’ll be watching the outcome on this one.
68s have alot of one year parts like that uncracked dashboard and chevyII emblems front and back. Agree on the price being high but where would you find another? No locking steering column and ignition on dash too!
Was wondering when this car would hit the internet, I see it all the time on my delivery route. The seller is a repair shop and they have a few more nice classics out there. I saw a clean 70s duster and a 56 nomad the other day when passed by.
I love 4 door cars and this car with a mid range paint job and some rally wheels or Torque Thrusts would look great.
Great sleeper with a modern LS 6.0 and a few lbs. of boost!
