The early 1990s ushered in a new era for America’s sports car, and at the top of the heap was the legendary ZR-1. This 1990 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1, listed here on eBay, shows just 46,454 miles and is a three-owner car with a clean title. Finished in vibrant red over gray leather, it remains largely original with only minor upgrades, including a CORSA exhaust system and a removable glass roof panel. Currently being sold by a private owner thinning out his Corvette collection, this “King of the Hill” offers serious performance with collectibility to match.

When the ZR-1 debuted in 1990, it turned the Corvette world on its head. Featuring the Lotus-designed LT5 5.7-liter V8, the ZR-1 pumped out 375 horsepower, an incredible figure for the era. With its unique wide-body styling, performance suspension, and upgraded brakes, the ZR-1 was more than just a trim package; it was a purpose-built supercar capable of taking on Europe’s finest.

This example has reportedly been garage-kept since new and driven sparingly, with only about 50 miles added by the current owner. The seller notes that the injectors were replaced by the previous owner, a common maintenance item for these cars. It has also received a recent service, making it a strong driver for anyone who wants to enjoy it without worry.

Cosmetically, the car presents well in its factory red finish with a matching removable glass roof panel. The gray leather interior shows normal signs of wear but retains its original appearance. With fewer than 50,000 miles, the car falls squarely into the “well-preserved driver” category, ideal for someone who wants a ZR-1 that isn’t too precious to enjoy.

The ZR-1 was priced at nearly twice the cost of a standard Corvette in its day, and Chevrolet limited production, making them rare compared to regular C4s. Collectors have begun to recognize the importance of these cars, especially early models like this 1990, which marked the beginning of a new high-performance chapter in Corvette history.

Would you keep this ZR-1 as part of a collection, or put miles on it the way Chevrolet intended?
