Jeep Grand Wagoneer enthusiasts are a tight-knit bunch and if you were to show up to a gathering in this nice looking ride you would definitely get a bit of side-eye! This 1993 ZJ Grand Wagoneer is about as nice as you’re likely to find anymore and can be found here on cragislist for a mere $6,000 with pickup in Milltown, NJ.
In ‘93, Jeep brought back the Grand Wagoneer badge for a luxury version of their brand new Grand Cherokee line. The ZJ version of the Grand Wagoneer was only produced in limited numbers, and was quietly discontinued after only one year. It boasted a host of upgrades over the standard Grand Cherokee, including a 5.2L V8 engine, comfy quilted leather bucket seats, and of course, the trademark wood side applique of its predecessors.
Sadly, most real SJ Grand Wagoneer fans won’t even recognize these as the continuation of their beloved platform, and Jeep ZJ’s in general are not especially desirable these days except as cheap commuters or trail beaters. Which brings us to the price. Is there a demand for what is essentially an upgraded, rebadged ZJ Grand Cherokee, even in good condition? I hasten to call this example excellent, as its paint appears to be a bit tired and the vinyl wood appliques are starting to peel apart (as they tend to do). That being said, the Jeep appears to have been well cared for and has not been modified from factory condition (aside from the stereo). I would ask the seller for photos of the undercarriage to check for rust but from the photos the body appears to be pretty straight. The couch-like leather seats also look to be in excellent shape.
Just because a vehicle is rare doesn’t necessarily mean there are buyers clamoring to snap it up; still, who doesn’t love wood paneling on a Jeep? The seller indicates price is negotiable, and the high asking price may just be a feeler since there aren’t many comparable listings of these to gauge value from. Despite not having the cachet of the classic SJ, this Jeep is a well kept example that is both comfortable and capable.

Yes it is a Nice Used SUV, but not at 6k$ it’s like a 2500$ Truck Maybe 3500$ on a good day.

Yes. Very nice used car. Someone will like it. I wouldn’t pay $6k for it. Closer to Gnrdude’s estimate, although I haven’t researched the value of an equivalent NON Grand Wagoneer Grand Cherokee.
Count me as one that does not like fake wood paneling on ANY Car/SUV/Van/Truck/Motor Scooter/Family Room….well, you get the idea.
I’d watch for rust on a 25 year old vehicle that was made to be taken out on the snow and salt covered roads in New Jersey.

Grand Cherokee NOT Wagoneer.
First of all these should have been called Wagoneers not GRAND Wagoneers, for they were not very grand. But it was a nice package and farily rare. This particular example looks not much better than your average decent used car. Tired paint, tired woodgrain, soiled interior. Probably at least a bit of rocker rot hiding under that cladding. I can’t see it bringing more than $2500 on a good day, probably closer to $1500. I believe Orvis Editions are rarer and worth more. In reality a GW like this is probably worth no more than a Laredo or Limited, though I would value a bit higher. It will be around a while at $6k. The least he could have done is clean the stains off the carpet and the headliner/overhead console!
Over the three years there were roughly 19k orvis edition made…. I belive that there was about 5k of these
Am I the only one who noticed the attachment under the front bumper ? Is that for a snow plow or to drag it behind a Motor Home ??? Can’t think either choice would have been good for it.
