This 1931 Ford Model A Pickup is listed for sale here on eBay. Located in Rohnert Park, California, it comes with a clear title. At the time of writing bidding on this Ford has reached $10,100.

This old Ford looks like a nice, clean example, but I do love the fact that it seems to still carry some of the cobebs accrued during its time in storage. The seller provides some pretty decent photos which show it to be fairly free of rust. There is apparently a small spot on the inside of the driver’s door, but the rest of the body and the underside of the car appear to be clean. The cab floor and the bed both sport newer wood. It’s hard to tell whether this has been given any form of protective sealer, but it looks to be fairly recent so it certainly isn’t too late to do this. The Ford has the spare tire mounted on the side fender and the seller states that even though they aren’t pictured, the spare tire mount and the roadster top frame both come with the car.

The interior looks to be quite clean and ready for someone to get out on the road in this Ford. Everything appears to be in good order, but there are no door trims. Sourcing these should not be a big job or a major expense though.

When the current owner purchased the car it had an oil leak from the engine. As a result he removed the engine and it underwent a rebuild. The owner has also fitted the car with a new fuel tank. The car is said to run and drive well. The tires appear to be in good condition but the seller does state that they are quite old, so it may be that these need to be replaced for safety’s sake.

To my mind this Ford Model A has spent way too many years in hiding, and it now deserves to be driven and enjoyed. It appears to be a solid example that should be strong both physically and mechanically. It’s the sort of vehicle that is ready to go once it receives a new set of tires. I suspect that this old Ford would be an absolute blast to drive, and I really hope that someone buys it, and that they drive and appreciate it.

This is a Roadster pickup, much more desirable than the common enclosed cab Model A pickup that was sold along side it at Ford dealers back in the day. Always thought these were cool, and almost all the Model A Roadster pickups I’ve seen over the years were street rodded. The price of restored stock Model A’s has been steadily dropping for the past few years (along with most other 30s and 40s cars) because the folks that can relate to these (at least in stock form) are dropping out of the demographic so to speak. Was watching the Mecum Auction last night and a nicely restored 31 Model A Roadster car sold for $12,000, talk about a lot of bang for the buck, would have brought $20K just a few short years ago

I had a 1931 A Tudor and the grill top had a black insert. Is this different on the truck?
This roadster version is definitely the one to have.

You are correct, but Model As we’re titled by the year sold. I have a ’31 roadster that has a ’32 title. My uncle bought it new in Feb ’32.

It’s a 1930 with 1928/29 rear bumper. I’ve loved Model A’s since l was 11 and my uncle bought and restored a 1930 rumble seat coupe.

How can you do an engine rebuild without removing the head? Check out the rust between head and block.

If you don’t retorque the head several times, they will do that. This one is a bit excessive, though.

Although I’ve never been a big fan of roadster pickups, I wouldn’t mind this truck sitting in my driveway. I like everything about it and could really enjoy having it…

I wonder if the license plates match the pink slip, they are car plates not pickup truck, strange that they have two year tags but no month tag. That would not stop me from putting it in my garage

I like it. I’m curious though whether the box is the original style for this one or not? Just doesn’t quite look right to me.

I agree with earlier comments regarding prices on pre war vehicles, A models especially coming down. I have owned a half dozen or so Model A’s over the years, including a 29 roadster pick up. I sold it on e bay for 14.5 a few years back and it needed nothing. If I were on the market today for one of these, I would step up and spend a few grand more and get one already finished… or at least a good driver that just needed a few cosmetic items.

As mentioned above, this appears to be a 1930. The 30/31’s are much less common than the 28/39’s. I would love to own this truck
