In the fifties most sports cars didn’t even have windup windows, so it is surprising to hear that this 1956 Corvette came from the factory with both power windows and top! I guess us Americans have always liked a little luxury with our speed. The options may make this Corvette unique, but I have a feeling it’s the low-mileage and 45 years of storage claim that has everyone excited. The car was repainted about 25 years ago though and the seller claims that the only bad things about it are a noisy odometer and the fact that a child broke an antenna… You’d think they could have replaced that last one easily enough. Oh well, it’s still worth a look here on eBay where bidding ends tomorrow.
The only comment I could make is regarding cost. My bet is the bidding will go to upper 70’s and the reserve will not be met. How’s that for a guess? LOL
I love the 50’s and 60’s vettes, just can’t pony up the cash to own one. Nice car.

I think your guess is right–a Vette with a retractable hardtop does not exist, unless it was some kind of custom job.

This is the quintessential first generation Vette, colors and all.
I prefer a ’56 because of the small numbers and almost extinct by GM year status..
There was one retractable hardtop that was factory made claimed and owned by that Corvette guy in Napolean Ohio.
This could hit in the 80’s, compare the 1960 floater for the asking of 36,000. You’ll never make that car look like this for another 50 grand or so.
Love this era of vettes, but he only way I could afford one would be to live in it.

Been in his warehouse fro 15 years and he knows nothing about it. makes me wonder if he has a clear title in his name or a lien for non payment of rents. Either way, nice car and looks like it could be well bought if the reserve isn’t much higher than the current 52.1K bid.
