Styling of the 1969 Chevy Chevelle was an evolution of the second-generation design adopted in 1968. The Malibu Sport Coupe with a V8 engine continued to be one of the most popular choices at more than 286,000 copies sold, including the forlorn example. The seller admits the auto has been sitting out in a field on his/her property in Salvisa, Kentucky for many years. It’s largely complete but is going to take a boatload of work and money unless you decide to siphon off parts for another project. Or maybe it will become another SS 396 clone. Whatever the case, the current bid here on eBay is $2,550.
According to the cowl tag, this Malibu looks to have been painted Dove White at the factory. And evidence of a former vinyl roof is still there. But has the color of the car changed over the years or is this what white looks like after being exposed to the Kentucky sun for endless years? The seller says it’s a complete car, but at least some of the front grille is missing unless it’s stuck inside somewhere along with two headlight assemblies. You must assume that rust is rampant in the undercarriage given the limited amount of air that probably circulates at that level.
This Chevy has a V8, but we don’t know which one. The basic 307 cubic inch motor would be a likely choice, but the Malibu could be equipped with something that was once more potent. There is no indication as to why this car has been where it’s been for so long, but a lack of being in running condition at some point is probable. The seller has no title, so a bill of sale will have to suffice. If you were to drag this car home, what would you do with it? Paying north of $2,500 to send it to the scrapyard wouldn’t be logical.
Well the AC system is still intact, but not a whole lot more. Leave it in the field.
Salvage and sell off what parts you can then scrap it, the paint is the only thing holding it together
If you dragged this anywhere, it would pull apart , junk

This is just sad to see!
Why sad ? Its just a run of the mill Chevelle ; its well over 50 years old and even though it just a parts car, its still here- most of these were crushed out in scrapyards decades ago, and tens of thousands of these were chopped into all different classes of stock car racing all over the country. We used to pick up Chevelles like this in the early 1980s for next to nothing to build a stock car or a 4 door or wagon to cut up for spare parts – Those cars were 100 times better than this beater and they are long gone. Be happy someone will get some parts to keep his Chevelle going !
Hard to make out the color for sure, but I’d guess it was butternut yellow , which was a really popular color for Chevrolet in the 60s
