In our quest to make the paid membership option more valuable to our subscribers, we have been busy adding new features. This latest change is a small one, but it should liven up the comments section a bit. Now you can make your remarks stand out from the crowd by adding an image next to your name. Keep reading for instructions. If you are not a Supporting Member yet, please take a look at the benefits and consider signing up because it helps us keep the lights on!
Just login and click the “My Account” link near the top of the page. From there click “Edit Profile” and then you can upload a photo of yourself or perhaps your favorite car? Just be sure to keep it clean. If you run into any problems please leave a comment below and we will do our best to help you figure it out. If any of you have any other features you’d like to see, please let us know.
Oh yeah, consider this our Valentine’s Day gift to you!
My 55 New Yorker Town and Country wagon. Sold it (gave it away) for $3000 a few years ago
Sounds like a great idea, even though, I have no means to do that. I just wish you didn’t use my most embarrassing BF’s moment ever as an example.( however, I do like the “member” thing, thanks again whoever did that for me) And I see the demeaning “thumbs down” still glares at us with anonymous disapproval. Thanks for a great site. ( quick check to make sure I’m on the correct thread,,,,looks good,,,aaaaand,,,, post comment)
I immediately appreciated that you, Howard, were the demonstration model that they selected to highlight in a feature.
You’ve become an icon here; a fixture. Good on you!
Thanks Mike, again, “just a spoke in the wheel” here.
I guess that explains why the pic I had uploaded using the old method is now gone(?)
Did you use gravatar? We turned those off a while ago because it was slowing the site down.
Yes, that’s what I was using. I swear my avatar was there a week or two ago.
Oh well, no big deal.
I think the membership is a great idea for those who want to be the first to see/comment on the posts or wish to run ads. Not for me, I’m a pretty casual user and my comments are usually a couple of days too late. ;-)
