I’m not sure if I’ve ever heard a pickup owner describe their truck as “superlative,” but that’s what Chevy calls their full-sized pickup lineup for 1989 in this brochure. This 1989 Chevrolet C1500 pickup can be found here on Facebook Marketplace in Clintonville, WI, and the seller is asking $10,900. Here is the original listing, and thanks to Lothar… of the Hill People for the tip!

Even though the opening photo is a bit warmer, color temperature-wise, I believe this beautiful truck is Sandstone Metallic over Brandywine Metallic. The first photo makes it look like it could be Caramel Brown Metallic, according to the color chart on page 4 of this brochure. What are your thoughts? I’m sticking with Sandstone over Brandywine. If it were a basic Summit White, it would still look fantastic, as this truck looks like it just snuck out of the dealership showroom. The color-matched Rally Wheels look great on this one, in my opinion.

I’m not sure if I’ve seen bumpers and the grille painted like this, but I like it. A lot. No, I love it. The boy-racer straight exhaust pipes, not so much, I’d knock that back a bit, but that’s just me. Again, it’s more than just looks; I tend to hit my shins on things like that, so that wouldn’t work at all for me. The seller is listing this gorgeous truck for a friend, and they listed a phone number to give a jingle for more info. Disclaimer: I took most of the phone number out of the “original listing” link, so six months from now, he’s not getting calls. Inside the bed looks fantastic. It appears to have been lined and then sprayed body color, or something similar. I don’t know how this truck could look any nicer than it does. I’d prefer it to have its factory badges, but that’s just me. I’m not a big de-badged guy.

Chevy made the fourth-generation full-sized trucks for the 1988 through 2002 model years, and this is a single (regular)-cab, long box. They also came with a short box and a new for this generation extended cab model, with extra room behind the front seat. I don’t see one ding, scratch, or other flaw on the exterior of this two-tone beauty, and the steering wheel is the only thing I see inside that could have maybe been hit with some detail juice to make it nice and shiny and slippery. Just kidding, but it’s the only thing that looks a bit faded inside, everything else basically looks like new to me. The seller even included a couple of underside photos and it looks solid and clean underneath. Nice job with the photos, seller!

The clean engine (it keeps getting better and better) is a “mild build” 350-cu.in. OHV V8, which would have had 210 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque when new. We don’t know its rating with the mild build, but it’s backed by a column-shifted automatic sending power to the rear wheels. They say it has 2,000 miles on the “mild built” engine, and it needs nothing. Hagerty’s at $12,900 for a #3 good-condition truck, so this looks like a bargain. Any thoughts on this two-tone truck?

(pulling suspenders teeth clenching toothpick) Well, you’re not from around here are you son? Clin-ton-ville, is in the heart of the winter salt district, and no way this truck accumulated that mileage, and looking like it does and came from there. I’ve seen trucks like this in the Badger, but with ultra low miles. The collector plate bolsters that fact. This happens quite often, trucks of this vintage brought back from the south, there is still a big demand for a simple truck like this. They simply don’t exist up north, and a great find.
What an absolute base model of a truck. It doesn’t even have a cassette player lol. I’m willing to bet that the “mild build” on that mouse consisted of red paint and headers. Oh and the aftermarket plug wires lol.
Priced like a short bed standard cab.
