This 1966 Mustang has been in the same family since new, but it has been sitting for a while. The time has come for the vehicle to move on to a new owner, and the seller seems motivated. Not only is this being offered in a No Reserve listing, but the owner has recently updated the text of the listing to include a BIN price. The Mustang is located in Simi Valley, California, and is being offered for sale here on eBay. Bidding has been intense and has pushed the price along to $11,400. However, the BIN in the text has been set at $18,500.

The color combination of this Mustang gives it an air of class. Vintage Burgundy is a great color, and the paint on this car looks quite presentable. There is no doubt that a repaint would make the vehicle “pop,” but I think that it looks impressive for an original survivor. There are a few marks on the paint, but nothing severe. The panels are straight, with no noticeable dings or dents. Rust is not an issue with this Mustang. I believe that it has spent its life in California, which is always a plus point with these classics. The owner supplies photos of the floors, and they look to be clean and sound. The trim and chrome is all present and appears to be in good condition. I can’t spot any flaws with the tinted glass. The whitewall tires add that extra small detail to the exterior presentation.

The “clean and tidy survivor” theme continues inside the Mustang. The top of the door trim is loose on the passenger side, but I suspect that some new clips would fix this problem. There is a cover over the dash, so we don’t get a good look at the pad. Beyond those couple of things, there isn’t much to be critical of. The upholstered surfaces present well, and there is no appreciable fading or wear on the carpet. A retro-style stereo has been installed, but that is the only aftermarket addition that I can spot. The inclusion of air conditioning should make life pleasant on those warm Californian days.

Under the hood of the Mustang, we find an A-Code 289ci V8. This should be pumping out 225hp, which finds its way to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual transmission. It isn’t clear whether the vehicle is numbers-matching. However, this combination should be capable of launching the Mustang down the ¼ mile in 15.5 seconds. The owner states that this classic runs and drives. He recommends that it be treated to a full service and inspection before any long trips are contemplated. Given that it has been sitting for many years, this would be a pretty smart move.
