The Triumph TR6 was produced by Triumph Motor Company from 1968 to 1976. It was the best–selling Triumph of the 1960s, and it remains one of the most popular classic cars today. This one is located in Wilton, Connecticut and it is listed here on eBay. The auction has 6 days remaining and has been bid to $3,100 so far. There have actually been 27 bids already and there appears to be no reserve. The seller is moving and wants to sell this TR6 right away.
The TR6 was introduced in late 1968 and was an update of the TR5, which had been in production since 1967. The TR6 was powered by a 2.5–liter, six–cylinder engine. It also featured a four–speed manual transmission, and a four–wheel, independent suspension system. From the factory, a US spec TR6 was rated at 105 horsepower and were carbureted. The UK versions were fuel injected and performed a little better.
This TR6 appears to be a project car that has been garaged for the last 12 years. It was last driven in 2010 and the car will need some TLC. The interior is dirty and shows neglect. However, the wood dash bezel looks like it can be saved and the rest of the car just needs a deep cleaning. Even the carpet and seat covers are in good enough shape for a driver. It would be a good idea to restore the brake system and fuel system before driving around the block.
The body of the TR6 was an evolution of the TR5, featuring a more rounded shape and a wider stance. The car was available in a variety of colors, including yellow, red, blue, and green. Based on published time trials, most car publications put a 0-60 mph time of around 8.0 seconds and a top speed of 120 mph. In total, over 91,850 TR6s were produced over the production run with 83,480 shipped to the US.

Someone must have shown up with cash in hand. Looks like a nice one from the pictures. I know I would have been tempted if I stumbled upon it. Great fun cars.
One of the seats must have gotten swapped, interesting that high backed passenger seat. These are fun, hope the new owner enjoys!
Yes, there’s a pretty big difference in the bhp between the fuel-injected “rest of the world” version and the US version. they had 150 bhp initially in the UK, though that was the old “gross” measure.. later reduced to 124 bhp
I think that quoted “0-60 mph time of around 8.0 seconds ” is for the full power UK versions, not the US model?
Still, even with the de-powered federal motor, a fun car…. and depending on how strict your local State emission laws are – if you are rebuilding a TR6 it’s pretty easy to swap out a few parts to upgrade to more respectable power.
