Most people consider the Delorean the star of 1985’s blockbuster, Back to the Future, but there’s more to the film than a single movie car. Ignoring the wonderful cars of 1955 (which deserve their own post), viewers were treated to a VW bus used by the Libyans, and the cleanest Toyota pickup to grace the big screen. I would argue that Toyota was the real star of the film. I’m guessing that bidders of this incredibly clean 1991 Toyota Pickup would agree. Find it here on eBay where bidding has reached $12,000 despite nearly 160,000 miles on the odometer.
The 1980s and 90’s Toyota pickups are known for their bullet-proof reliability and utilitarian simplicity. This theme has been exhausted across many automotive media, perhaps most famously by Top Gear’s Toyota Hilux shenanigans. This particular pickup clearly wasn’t put through the paces by the British trio. It shines with excellent paint due to a claimed $4,000 respray (including wonderful reproduction decals) and features 4 cylinders, 4×4 power delivery and a 5-speed stick, and few other amenities.
Condition is above average and documented with several dozen clear photos for a prospective bidder to ponder. The seller claims that this is a no-accident rust-free car that has lived its life entirely in the Pacific North West. The pictures seem to inspire confidence in this claim. Seats look original but fresh. Tires show little wear. Maintenance is claimed to be up to date, including the timing chain and head gasket done 35,000 miles ago. There’s no word on whether maintenance records are available, but the pictures speak for themselves. This is a clean truck. It looks too good to haul lumber.
As Toyotas in this condition become rarer and rarer, the prices have gone up accordingly. Despite the rise in prices, these trucks are loved for a reason. They are no-nonsense small trucks of the type you can’t really find today. This truck was good enough for Marty McFly. Is it good enough for you?
Wow. I purchased one exactly like this one brand new in 1991. Same color and all. Paid 12000 for it. I wish I still had it.
Great trucks. Funny- this one is still hovering at $12k.
They’re nice trucks but they rusted out very quickly.
Not everywhere. They are still plentiful and rust free in my area.

All those pics in the eBay ad and not ONE of the frame and undercarriage?
The seller included about a dozen pictures of the frame and undercarriage. They are part of the 100 or so pictures at the bottom of the sellers description.
