Nicest One Left? 1993 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer 4×4

Careful ownership will show a mile away, and this 1993 Blazer would seem to demonstrate that. When you look at the photos that the owner supplies, you will probably come to the same conclusion that I have; I doubt that this 4×4 has been off-road in its entire life. Every aspect of the vehicle presents beautifully, and the time has come for it to head to a new home. The Blazer is located in Panama City Beach, Florida, and has been listed for sale here on eBay. Bidding currently sits at $9,000 in a No Reserve auction. That’s right; the winner will definitely walk away with this prize.

The Blazer is finished in Olympic White, and its presentation appears to be flawless. The owner provides an enormous selection of photos of every aspect of the vehicle. What these show is a Chevy that is in beautiful condition. The panels are straight, with the gaps nice and tight. The paint is free from chips and scratches and shines superbly. The underside of the Blazer is as clean as they come, and the general condition down there leads me to believe that this vehicle has never seen any off-road action. The alloy wheels are free from damage or stains, while the same seems true of the external trim and chrome. There are no problems with the glass, and the inclusion of a roof rack is a practical touch.

Occupying the engine bay of the Tahoe is a 4.3-liter V6 engine. This produces 160hp, which finds its way to the road via a 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission. Off-road capabilities are provided by a dual-range electronic transfer case, while the buyer will also receive power steering and power brakes with ABS. This is not what I would class as a “hard-core” off-roader, but it is still a vehicle that could get its occupants into some relatively inaccessible locations. The listing indicates that the Blazer has 68,000 miles on the clock, and the presentation and condition would seem to support this. The Tahoe has recently received a service and rolls on a fresh set of Goodyear tires. It appears that the presentation of the engine bay only tells part of the story. The vehicle drives well, with the steering feeling tight and secure.

Cloth upholstery in an off-roader of any description is going to tell a story. In this case, that story is a good one. The interior presents in virtually as-new condition and wants for nothing. The seat upholstery is free from significant marks and wear, as is the carpet. The driver’s seat might have some slight sagging towards the outer edge, but this is common in vehicles of this type. The plastic has held up remarkable well, with no signs of cracks or discoloring. The interior is also unmolested, meaning that no-one has bolted in any aftermarket additions. Mind you, with these sorts of equipment levels, there isn’t much that could be added. Creature comforts include a cool digital gauge cluster and a roof console. Add in ice-cold air conditioning, power windows, power locks, lumbar support, cruise, a tilt wheel, and a premium AM/FM radio and cassette player. That lot should make life pretty pleasant on the road.

I believe that if you were to ever look up the term “careful ownership” in an encyclopedia, then a picture of this 1993 Blazer Tahoe would not look out of place. Its condition is pretty mind-blowing, and it appears to have led a sheltered life for the past 27-years. If your budget doesn’t stretch to a new SUV, maybe this one is worth a closer look. It might not be new, but it could be yours for a fraction of the cost. That has to be worth thinking about.

Remember when the Blazer was a cool boxy SUV and not some Camaro-wannabe SUV? Pepperidge Farm remembers

My older brother had one of these and that 4.3 V6 motor would spank the cat I tell you.

I grew up with these old Blazers. Well, they were new at the time. I never saw one I didn’t like. A friend in high school had a 90 or 91 in Tahoe level trim, Black on black…sharp truck.
I think GM dropped the ball by bringing back the Blazer name for another, lost in the mix crossover suv, they could have come out with a bad ass, retro 4×4 to compete with the new Bronco, but I guess not.

That is what we hope the new GMC Jimmy will be. A Bronco/Wrangler fighter.

There was a similar Blazer on Craigslist Phoenix about a month ago. It was red and about 40,000 miles on it and was 2WD with auto and A/C. I didn’t look at it in person, because I wanted it so bad , would have tried anything to get it. It sold fairly quickly for 9K, seemed like allot to me, but I was really tempted!

IIRC, that engine made 200 hp. Different fuel delivery.

I was thinking the same thing. I think the TBI 4.3 had 160 but the Vortec (like this one) had in the 190-200 range.

I had two of these in S-15 Jimmy form, a 1986 and a 1992. The 1992 had the 4.3 (TBI unfortunately) and I regret selling it to this day. Loved that thing.

Ahh the good old days. Nice looking truck. If only it was closer I might be bidding. Had an 89 version of this. Loved it.

Great truck. Always liked the looks of these.
Why is it thought that it seems like all the great condition survivors are all bland colors like this white with gray interior?

These Blazers are cool.. I had the newer one a 98 LT with all the toys in green and off silver. My wife had a 01 LT with the toys in cherry red. I put little over 300,000 on mine. Love it. Mobil 1 oil and did trans service ever 30,000 miles. Went off road with it. Never got stuck in snow or mud. My wife used to commute to the city with her vehicle and she had no problems either. I do miss these Blazers. Today Chevy’s are not the same too much technology on the new ones no fun. If this white Blazer was closer to my house I would jump on it. 😄

I leased a New 95 S 10 Blazer brand new… at 5000 miles.. I was on the way to North Carolina on I77.. and the tranny blew going up a hill.. Towed it into a Chevy Dealer..and they gave me a junk used car to get back home in..since no rentals available.. Week later.. they called me and said New Tranny was in..all they had to do was test drive it.. they called me back…said that Tranny was junk too.. Finally got it back 3 weeks later..then.. it blew two alternators…
air quit working.. the back window kept falling off its track.. some springs in the leather drivers seat stuck me in the rear..and when the Tranny started slipping again at 15,000 miles.. I turned it back in on the LEMON LAW.. I had HAD IT

My dad bought an 89 s10 blazer brand new. The only thing good, was the engine. After two years, the tranny wouldn’t shift properly, the digital dash had dark spots, the fuel was never accurate, the plastic was peeling off the aluminum wheels. The list goes on, and on. A complete turd.
