We’ve seen a few very respectable classic pickups in recent times here at Barn Finds, but this 1984 Chevrolet C10 Silverado is an absolute peach. It presents beautifully for a vehicle of this age, it is loaded with luxury touches, and the 454ci V8 under the hood has to be the icing on the cake. The owner has decided to part with the C10, so he has listed it for sale here on eBay. It is located in New Baltimore, Michigan, and bidding has reached $10,500 in this No Reserve auction.
It is hard to know where to start with the C10 because it seems to have so much to offer. It is finished in a striking combination of Medium Blue Metallic and White, and is sure to stand out in a crowd. The owner candidly admits that the paintwork isn’t perfect, wearing a few chips and marks. It isn’t clear whether the vehicle has received any repaint work, but the owner has made the sensible decision to apply a spray-on bedliner. This has gone over a bed that is free from the usual dings and dents and provides a crisp and hard-wearing finish. The panels are straight, with no evidence of the typical scars that can afflict workhorses of this type. Rust is something that the buyer won’t need to be concerned with. The panels look extremely clean, while the underside of the Silverado is spotless. The exterior trim is in excellent order, while the Rally wheels are not only free from damage, but they wear a new set of tires.
Now we get to the business end of the deal with the C10. Lurking under the hood is a 454ci V8 that would have been producing 230hp and 385 ft/lbs of torque when it was new. However, the owner has fitted it with an upgraded camshaft, headers, and a dual exhaust. It would be reasonably safe to assume that both the power and torque figures will have received a healthy boost. Bolted to the back of the 454 is an automatic transmission, while the vehicle also comes equipped with power steering and power front disc brakes. The Chevy isn’t fitted with a towing hitch, but you’d have to think that it could haul some pretty impressive loads with its current drivetrain. The owner says that the Silverado runs and drives perfectly and that it is heaps of fun on the road. It has loads of power, the transmission and steering are smooth, and the power assistance makes driving an effortless experience.
Turning our attention to the C10’s interior, and it looks tidy for a vehicle of this type and age. The seat is upholstered in blue cloth, and while it has some wrinkling, it is free from stains or significant wear. The remaining trim is just as impressive, while the carpet and dash are close to perfect. The owner has installed an aftermarket wheel and tach, but I can’t spot any other additions. I believe that the C10 may have been fitted with air conditioning at some point because there are a few items in the engine bay that would suggest this. However, I can’t spot a compressor, so potential buyers might want to investigate this. Otherwise, the interior features power windows, power locks, a tilt wheel, and a sliding rear window.
The line of people seeking to include a classic Pickup in their lives seems to be growing with each passing day. While many buyers focus on vehicles from the 1940s and 1950s, a growing group has realized that vehicles like this 1984 C10 Silverado are beginning to get some age behind them. That would help to explain why there have already been 41 bids submitted on this one, and I suspect that there might be a bit more action before this auction ends. I wouldn’t be surprised if it surpassed $15,000 because the Chevy’s condition and specifications would justify that sort of figure. This will be an interesting one to watch because if the bidding action doesn’t take off, someone could potentially score themselves a great classic pickup at an affordable price.
who doesn’t love a BBC?
:), :), :),,,saw’r one on the auction tv, sold for $20g’s,,, :), :), :), who’s complaining about high prices now, eh? They’re still nuts.
It needs the rear bumper re-installed. Other than looking like it has an overbite from the rear, it appears to be a nice truck.
Questionable work and choices. As stated in the ad, these have been rising in value for a long time, for good reason. This truck needs a thorough, in person, examination prior to bidding.
You should think about featuring the other car the seller currently has listed on eBay. It’s a “drag” car that is a hot mess, but would get lots of love on this site.
