Versatility is sometimes a key consideration when an enthusiast commences the search for a classic to park in their driveway. If towing or off-roading are the aim, this 1997 Ford F250 Super Cab deserves a close look. Its 4×4 drivetrain will make wilderness adventures effortless, while the V8 Diesel hiding under the hood gives it the power and torque to haul or tow heavy loads. The icing on the cake is the luxury features, ensuring occupants perform these activities in comfort and style. It isn’t perfect, but the seller’s decision to list it with No Reserve might make it irresistible.

The F-Series has remained an integral part of Fard’s model range since just after World War II, and there is no sign that the situation will change soon. The Ninth Generation graced showroom floors from August 1991 until the end of 1997, with this F250 from the final production year. The first owner ordered it in Cayman Blue and Ivory, and there is no evidence suggesting it has undergone restoration or repairs. The presentation isn’t showroom-fresh, but I would describe it as honest. Close inspection reveals a few chips and scratches, but with no rust that could cause issues, the winning bidder could leave this Ford untouched and still slip behind the wheel with their head held high. The panels have no significant bumps or bruises, and the plastic bedliner is an addition that ticks the box for me. The wheels exhibit some deterioration, but like the panels and paint, the condition is acceptable for a driver-grade classic. The trim looks pretty respectable, and there are no signs of glass imperfections.

Regardless of whether you are towing or off-roading, there is something undeniably attractive about undertaking those activities in comfort. This F250 features air conditioning, power windows, power locks, power front seats, cruise control, a tilt wheel, and an aftermarket CD player with a USB input. Therefore, it is fair to say that life on the move will be pretty pleasant aboard this classic. However, the interior shows signs of aging and UV exposure. There is wear on the outer edge of both front seats, and the carpet is stained. The dashtop is discoloring, which is often a warning sign that splits or cracks might not be far away. If the new owner is on a budget, some strategies would improve this F250’s cause without breaking the bank. A set of high-quality slip covers would prevent further seat deterioration, with the same true if the buyer throws a cover over the dash. Floor mats would hide the carpet’s shortcomings. Those items will cost significantly less than replacing the faulty pieces and are the choices I would make.

The luxury touches may make this F250 attractive, but its greatest asset hides below the hood. This gentle giant features a 7.3-liter turbo diesel V8 that churns out 215hp and a whopping 425 ft/lbs of torque. The power reaches the ground via an overdrive automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case, while power assistance for the steering and front disc brakes were standard fare in 1997. The versatility of the V8 means that with maximum torque arriving below 2,000rpm, this beauty can clamber over harsh terrain effortlessly with the motor barely ticking over. The same is true if the buyer hooks something heavy to its hitch receiver. Disappointingly, there is no information supplied about the Pickup’s mechanical health. However, with no mention of existing problems or issues, it seems the F250 could be a turnkey proposition.

This 1997 Ford F250 Super Cab 4×4 offers a world of possibilities, and the reaction online suggests people see it as an excellent prospect to park in their driveway. Its condition and versatility will account for some of the interest, while the No Reserve factor will also help its cause. Fifteen bids have pushed the price to $8,100 since the seller listed the Ford here on eBay in Severn, Maryland. With over 260 people viewing the listing in the past day and ninety-eight adding it to their “watch” list, that suggests the price will climb as the auction progresses. It will be fascinating to watch proceedings to gauge how much someone is willing to pay for this classic.

Nice truck my neighbor had 480,000k miles on his when he sold it to get the Toyota he’s driving now, I would consider this one except I’m not a fan of paying a dealer $500 dollars for $25 dollars worth of paperwork.

Looking at the pictures, I would suspect the Cab & bed mounts need replacing ,which is not a big job , but a job that needs doing,.I had a 1997 the same model but Black & silver it was a 5speed stick 4×4, loved it should have never got rid of it. Lots of torque & power, Pulled a fifth wheel 40ft trailer & a 4 horse trailer behind it with no problem.

What is wrong with the bed on this truck? It appears to be leaning and completely out of line with the cab
