No Reserve Eddie Bauer: 1990 Ford Bronco

The Ford Bronco has been a hot item for a while, undoubtedly getting a bump recently with the modern reincarnation of the classic 4×4. The square body design hasn’t changed much over the years, which is likely why the Bronco and its nemesis, the K5 Blazer, remain so popular to this day. Of course, its off-road capabilities, reputation for durability, and low costs of ownership all have a lot to do with it as well, and generally speaking, it’s a smart investment as a vehicle you can use and not really see much downside on if you keep it in good shape and decide to sell later. This is a desirable Eddie Bauer edition listed with no reserve here on eBay, and while its 90K odometer reading cannot be verified, it certainly looks like a sub-100K mile truck.

The Bronco wears one of the best color combos ever seen in this era of the truck (in my opinion), with a tan top over a red body, with corresponding tan paint on the rockers. The wheels are an aftermarket design, perhaps with a lower offset, as they fill out the fender wells nicely. The chrome bumpers present well, and the same goes for the side-view mirrors. So many Broncos have been used and abused, owing to that reputation for durability I mentioned earlier. The Eddie Bauer models were marketed as the more luxurious option and also cost more, so perhaps that’s why these limited edition models show up in decent condition more often than not.

The seller doesn’t go into great detail about the cosmetics, other than noting that a paint job could transform it into more of a stunner. I never know what do with this comment: are sellers just looking for something to say that covers their ass in the event the buyer find dings or scratches? Or do they really believe the paint is so rough that it should be resprayed? Hard to know for sure, especially since the paint looks pretty tidy on this example. The interior also presents well, and while some Eddie Bauers came with leather trim, this Bronco makes do with cloth. The cabin is optioned with power windows, door locks, and a tilt wheel, and the A/C is said to work.

Under the hood is a venerable 5.0L V8 powerplant paired to an automatic transmission. The Bronco is obviously a true four wheel drive, but there’s no evidence it’s done any stints off road in the recent past. The engine bay is nicely detailed, just like the rest of truck, and there’s evidence seemingly everywhere that this is indeed a truck with less than 100,000 miles. The seller reports that the Bronco is exempt due to being 10 years old, which effectively means there’s no paper trail verifying the mileage. Still, with no reserve and the clean condition on display in the photos, I can’t see how you’d go wrong with a survivor Eddie Bauer edition Bronco like this one.

These Eddie Bauer Broncos were particularly well-done, with the nicely trimmed interiors and the attractive two-tone paint. This one looks to be a nice example which has been well cared for. To me, that big winch sure does look out of place though.

In a sense, these were forerunners of today’s luxury full size SUV’s.

Nice looking bronco .If NOT for the big ugly useless bumper guard, big miros and rear spare tire carrier. To me–if it was mine. I,d put the spare inside. Get 60.s smaller mirros and take the brush guard off. Why? Because it would be in the way trying to do anything under the hood. Them mirros will blind up at night time .When a car comes up behind you and the spare is tempting someone to steal your spare.and I,d fix the dent in front of the back passenger side and fix the spot of rust behind the rear wheel on the passenger side. Plus what is the reason of no under carrier pictures? Looks good, but better take a closer look on this one.

the carfax CLEARLY shows 190k miles, absolutely no mistake.. and the seller is stating ’90k’ miles and he ‘thinks’ that they are the real miles? He didn’t look at the very clear carfax? People like this guy are exactly what’s wrong with ebay.

I was going to mention the same thing. The attached AutoCheck right in his ad clearly shows the true mileage.

These sellers are either idiots who don’t realize that they are contradicting information in their own ad or outright liars. I’ll go with the latter.

I already have one just like it. Same color and appointments. They are incredible powerhouses. I think it will even climb a tree in reverse. I’ve had mine 23 years.

I pulled a Dodge Ram 2500 with a flatbed trailer and three snowmobiles out of a ditch in a blinding snowstorm once in Plumas National Forrest that the snowplow couldn’t. Buy it and love it!

Seeing this is a treat, as my grandfather owned a nearly identical ‘90 Eddie Bauer which he lent to me for a summer when I was in college. Aside from the pitiful gas mileage, that thing was an absolute blast.
