The unfortunate thing about certain models of short-wheelbase motorhomes is they are unfairly characterized as homeless chariots, the sort of rigs you see stationed in Walmart parking lots on the wrong side of town. First, a disclaimer: I have no quarrel with this and truly feel for anyone who faces circumstances that demand their home become one on wheels, probably against their will. It’s just that rigs like this 1997 Dodge B3500 “Roadtrek” by Jayco are actually pretty darn handsome when you find them in similar condition to this 1997 model here on eBay, but very few have been preserved to this degree. The Dodge is offered with under 100,000 miles and no reserve, with bids to $8,700 at the moment.
If you were to find one of these Dodge camper conversions on the street, it seems unlikely the interior would look as good as this one does. Again, this creampuff of a camper serves as a strong reminder that the aftermarket companies building these conversions actually did a pretty decent job. The bright colors, the ample daylighting, the convenient couches and table – you really had everything you need on-board, and in a much smaller form factor than a typical RV. And let’s not forget that at the current bid price, this Dodge is a hell of a lot cheaper than a comparable Sprinter van.
Wow – I can’t remember the last time I saw a Dodge conversion van this nice. Nicely preserved (fake) wood trim, a clutter-free dash, column shift automatic, full power features, and I’m guessing ice-cold air conditioning. The seller also reports that the interior features a refrigerator, stove, microwave, toilet system, privacy blinds, overhead cabinetry, shore-power cable, and much more. The best news is you can likely still get this serviced at your local Mopar dealer or whichever one is closest should you encounter any issues while on the open road. The seller reports that the Dodge was recently serviced, so hopefully it’s as close to turnkey as it gets.
Now, the proportions always looked a bit ungainly to me but this is not a vehicle you buy for its looks. It’s about getting a motorhome-like experience in a vehicle not much bigger than your average conversion van. The seller reports that in addition to all of the other equipment listed, this Dodge also comes with a Onan on-board generator with low hours, as well as a television and secondary air conditioner. For the price, you’re going to have a hard time finding much else out there with as much convenience baked in, and dare I say, this looks like a much better value than a $60,000 Sprinter.
I would love to own this but at the moment I can’t afford a ol sitting hen.
One day left on the auction. I wouldn’t be surprised if it sells for $25,000.
Well. Color me surprised. It sold for $13,200.
Someone got a real deal.
Super nice van. \Wont last long before selling.
Sure wish I had room for this. It would be so convenient to drive around the Country with the dog in the summer time.
I have a 1996 that is almost the same condition. The only problem is that I can’t find any owners manuals. If anyone knows where I can find some it would be appreciated. Thanks.
I have the same as u and can’t find any ligature on it either. Or owners manual. I also would appreciate any help.
