Third-generation F-bodies have been gaining traction with collectors, and clean, original examples are becoming harder to find. This 1984 Pontiac Trans Am, currently listed on eBay with no reserve, is described as a true survivor that has remained largely untouched over the years.

Powered by a 5.0-liter V8 and paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, this Trans Am offers the kind of driving experience that helped define the era. The seller notes that the car runs and drives excellent, with smooth shifting and no reported issues going through the gears. For anyone looking for a driver rather than a project, that’s an important detail.

With 103,000 miles showing, this car sits in a range where it has been used but not excessively worn out. The seller states it has been garage kept its entire life and maintained consistently, which likely contributed to its current condition. It’s also described as a one-family-owned vehicle, something that often adds to the appeal for buyers looking for a well-cared-for example.

This Trans Am is equipped with the WS4 performance and appearance package, along with the MM5 5-speed manual transmission and LG4 5.0L V8. Additional factory features listed include air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, power locks, tilt steering, and a premium sound system. The seller notes that the factory air conditioning is still operational.

The car is said to retain its original interior and factory striping, which is a key point for collectors who value originality over restoration. A factory build sheet is also referenced, detailing a long list of options and confirming how the car was originally equipped.

According to the seller, the vehicle has remained in Arizona since new, having originally been purchased at Meacham Pontiac. That kind of long-term regional history can sometimes play a role in preservation, though buyers will want to verify all details themselves.

The seller also mentions that a significant amount of money has recently been invested into the car, positioning it as something that could be used regularly rather than needing immediate attention.

Offered as a no-reserve auction, this Trans Am presents an opportunity for buyers to bid on a largely original third-generation example with documented options and a manual transmission—something that continues to stand out as these cars gain more recognition in the hobby.

Someone went a little long on those AC hoses. They’re not supposed to be laying on top of the upper radiator support. Also, the foam covering is missing from the high pressure hose. This will cause annoying vibration and noise. Ask me how I know.

interesting to see the LG4 with the cold air inlet of the L69. although not a house afire performance wise but with a bit of t.l.c. this could be made into a fun car

This one’s not far from my house – looks like a nice example – amazing that the interior survived the AZ sun!

And that’s Mecham Pontiac, not Meachem.

Back in the 70s we told GM they needed to test interior fabrics in the south instead of in Michigan. They did and their interiors hold up quite well now.
I prefer their fabric to the GM leather. It is tougher by far.
