While browsing Hemmings, I stumbled across some listings for an estate sale that looked intriguing. It’s titled the “NY Barn Finds, Antique, & Classic Automobile Auction” and it appears to consist of two collections. The first stash belonged to Richard Perry and consists mostly of Dodge vehicles. There’s some good vehicles, but the one that caught my eye was a 1914 open touring car. If you don’t know your Dodge history, that’s the year that the Dodge Brothers officially launched their now famous company. The other collector is unnamed, but there are some interesting finds there too including a Kaiser Darrin, a ’57 Chevy, and an MGA. So, if you are in the area you may want to go take a look. The auction will start at 11am on Saturday, April 25th at the Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, New York. Click here for more info. See anything you’d like to drag home?

Besides cars, there also appears to be a nice stash of parts. I spotted some period Hurst rims that I’m sure the muscle car guys would kill for. There are also some wagon loads of what appears to be pre-war Dodge stuff. I assume that the Perry collection was stored in the two barns shown in the photos and that the rest of the cars were scattered in other locations. The auction house doesn’t provide many details so this is one you will want to checkout in person before bidding. Personally I would like to attend just to browse the rows of antique metal. Of course, there is always the slight chance that a deal or two could be had too. So, does anyone here know anything about these collections?

Loath as I am to criticize anyone’s auto interests, this guy was a certified eccentric if he actually ‘collected’ a Renault Alliance – arguably the poster child of the malaise era…

Interesting review of the “graduate edition” of the 1986 Alfa ‘romero’ listed in the auction.

too bad the 57 Chevy has too many doors
There may well be some good bargains to be had this day – the early Dodges will attract some serious bidding so the off brand cars may get less attention. The Kaiser Darrin may be the star of the show, the big block Corvette deserves a look for sure.
Lots of parts to sort through, the Hurst wheels will get some paddles waving.
This will be a well attended auction as Middletown is so accessible via Rt’s 84 and 87 and a beautiful Spring day in that part of the Hudson Valley would make it a great morning drive.
