The 1977 model year would be a banner one for Chevrolet in that the Corvette reached a new sales record. Nearly 50,000 copies of the popular sports car were built, a number that would only be bested two times through the present day. We’re told this ‘Vette is a “one and only” automobile that rode in a parade for the Denver Bronco’s first AFC championship. Located in Denver, Colorado, this Corvette has just 18,000 miles and has been garage-kept its entire life. The car is available here on craigslist for $35,000 OBO. Thanks for this interesting tip, Mark_K.
A newspaper advertisement provided by the seller indicates that an “Orange Crush” Corvette was available at the local Chevy dealership to commemorate the Bronco’s success. But that does not mean it was the only one built as the VIN indicates this car was painted in Corvette Orange, paint code 66. Supposedly this parade car carried head coach Red Miller as part of the celebration. Given some overspray on the door tag, the car has likely been repainted, at least partially.
We’re not told if this is a one-owner Chevrolet, but it’s been well-maintained with a low odometer reading which suggests it’s been considered something of a collector’s item. The body and paint look good, and the drivetrain is standard ‘Vette fare, a 350 cubic-inch V8 paired with an automatic transmission. We’re told the machine performs well and drives like a new car. Hagerty says that a ’77 Corvette in excellent condition is worth about $20,000, so the seller’s premium gets you a low-mileage car that may have a history with it – if the seller can confirm it.
Way overpriced. Buy all day long under 10000. Not even worth that. 2nd year steel floor. Now besides frame for rust gotta look at floor. Under 200 hp. Better cars for that kind money
“all day long under 10000”?
And in this condition?
Not gonna get one in THAT condition in TODAYS market for “under 10″……
unless the seller wants to give it away quick.
Sure. This nice for under 10k all day long. Think maybe you’ve lived under that mushroom too long.
Don’t get the “mushroom” reference but post a couple 77 Very good 18,000 MILE (IF It can be proven of course) Vettes for under 10K…….I haven’t seen any in THIS CONDITION with extremely Low miles for under 10K in this inflated market, I’d like to buy one!
Corvette orange was featured on the cover of the 1977 dealer brochures.
It’s about time for BF to stop reporting all of the BS stories behind some of the junk posted here.
Nice looking I just picked up a 77 blown engine ok paint. Rebuilt the engine and drive it to cruise nights. Ridiculously slow but looks and sounds good and gets thumbs up. I have under 5500.00 into mine and had t tops. So cheap fun
In fairness, it does say, “OBO”, which should come in south of $19K. You cannot buy a good C3 for under $10,000. They continue to go up in value as the dudes who wore Members Only jackets and gold chains in the late ’70s rapidly age into nostalgia.
It was one of Bill Mitchell’s favorite designs and expresses exuberant flamboyance – something sadly lacking in today’s automotive offerings.
25,000 for the mileage and prestige, but not a penny more
Where were you when I was selling my 24,000 mile, 1979 L-82, 4-speed? It was used in the 1980 Ashtabula, Ohio “Miss Coal Unloader ” Parade. I had to wash her three times to get the coal dust off. And I had to wash the car twice!
Ike, I don’t know anything about the coal up there in Ohio but here in Alabama we’d be proud of you for taking good care of your sister like that.
Thank you Poppy! And I would be pleased as punch to loan anybody in Alabama my toothbrush in case somebody down south wants to clean up their tooth from time to time.
