Package Deal: Pair of Chevrolet Corvettes

It’s interesting when you find a listing where a seller has bundled two cars together. I’ve always thought it would make finding buyers easier when sold separately because not everyone wants two of something. And the net proceeds of the sales might produce a higher result. In this case, we have a C2 1967 Chevy Corvette paired with a C5 2000 Corvette, offered as a package deal for an even $100,000. Both sports cars look quite nice and can be found in Rochester, New York. A tip from Barn Finder carnutbill, the listing can be found here on craigslist.

In the 33 years that separate these two cars, one thing that has changed is that fewer buyers were interested in convertibles by the time the newer ‘Vette was produced. In 1967, hardtops/coupes were only 37% of production while in 2000 they comprised 61% of production although the latter included t-types, not something offered in 1967. And market interest in the Corvette had grown considerably from 23,000 copies in ’67 to 34,500 units in ’00. Let’s take a quick look at each of the two cars.

1967 Coupe

This beautiful green coupe (not split window) has just 58,000 miles. It includes the 350 hp 327 cubic inch V8 that only went into 6,375 Corvettes that year, but that’s across both body styles. It’s paired with a 4-speed manual transmission that does not have three options available in ’67: factory A/C, power brakes, and a radio (an aftermarket one has been added with no external antenna). There is no indication that this nice ‘Vette needs anything but a new home. Hagerty Value: $67,000 (good condition).

2000 Coupe (FCR)

FCR stands for Fixed Roof Coupe which comprised just 8-9% of sales in 2000. This red beauty has under 23,000 miles. It has a 350 hp engine paired with a 6-speed transmission. The body and paint look nice as does the black interior. We’re told the vehicle comes with a spare set of chrome wheels. Hagerty: $16,500 (good condition). This might explain the seller’s desire to package them together.

Well let’s see here the 67 is worth 67k and the 2000 is worth 16.5,that doesn’t add up to 100k on my calculator I guess I need a new calculator

67k for the 1967 coup is very optimistic and 100k for the package isn’t remotely a possibility

Seriously 1 plus 1 cannot equal 3. And that hood on the red Vette needs to go.

    I. MEAN. W O W. Holy Moly and all the other facial expressions that I can think of. Where did the owner hide the paper bag with optional 200 Benjamins?
    Maybe I’m missing something?
In my world eggs always come cheaper by the dozen, right?
    Wish them luck!

How’s bout I give him 16500 for the 67 an him put the 2000 up in another auction. Sounds good to me..if he owns both he must be loaded so he’s not going to miss the money. Ole well worth the try..

$16500 for a lo mile 2000 6spd vette, that will blow the doors off any mustang from the 1985-2000 era, seems a good valu. A same mileage foxbody goes for more.

Not to far away from me. I might be interested in the C5 if it were priced right. No Interest in the other one. To hard of a ride for this old guy! Love my C5.

Mr. Duntov would have dug the FRC. It was built to perform.

Hi Frank, Thanks for the offer. Let’s wait and see what kind of action his ad receives. I have seen your responses on here often, but didn’t realise you were close by. I live in Clarence.

Possibly the owner is confusing the value of the FRC with the Z-06 value! If it was a Z-06 then that would maybe bring the value a little closer to his asking price. But here in Canada, this deal would cost me $137,000 in CDN dollars, and then the import tax!!

Lucky!!! Yep, we just get to look at the ads up her, non affordable unless we buy here in Canada, funny thing is prices are the same. The exchange is the problem.
