Pick your Deville: 1970’s Cadillacs

Cadillac Devilles

According to Hagerty, of the top ten emerging classics, only the bottom two are American! The 1971 to 1976 Devilles are next to last with the 1984 to 1989 Toyota 4Runner at the top! The 1982 to 1992 Trans Ams are last on the list. So here are two examples of this emerging classic from eBay. The first is a very low mileage survivor, a black 1973 DeVille with only 19,000 miles. It was said to have been stored most of it’s life and it certainly looks new. It’s listed here on eBay with the bidding at 15,000 and the reserve not met. The other is a really nice low mileage, 40,000 miles, 1971 DeVille also on eBay. It has a much more reasonable BIN of $14,250. It’s had one repaint and said to be in immaculate condition. So, if you had to have this emerging classic, which one would you pick, the reasonably priced example or the much more expensive black one with a few less miles?

As Mike D said, the ’71 sold yesterday evening at 7:38PM on a ‘Best Offer Accepted’.. nice cars, but I agree, the ’73 is the best of the two, and would be a real ‘Keeper’, i.e. IF.. I had the $$ to afford it..

The black one looks like the more stylish of the two, however either car is a nice find. I am glad to hear that the third generation Trans AM’s made the top ten list, since I currently own an 82 with 25K and an 86 with 30K miles on them.

either car would work. the seller of the black one should think about removing the reserve. now at $16100, it still could might a very nice driver/only car. both are nice finds.

I prefer the 73’s styling, and it really “ROCKS” in Basic Black!
