Pole Barn Full of Mopars

mopar-pole-barn

The 1970 Plymouth Barracuda rolling shell is interesting, but we want to know what else is hidden in this pole barn. The seller has started their eBay auction at $1k with no reserve and they also have 1970 Dodge Challenger listed with a starting bid of $750. We just wanted to give you a heads up on this seller because it might be interesting to see what else comes out of their barn!

Low opening bid, no reserve, and honest presentation are all good, but unfortunately there’s not much there, and what’s there needs a lot of help. And the C in the VIN says this had the 225 C.I. 6 Cylinder with 1 barrel, so it would likely take a very dedicated person to go to the expense of restoring it.

I had a 71 Valiant with a 225 slant CID. Outran many 283’s and 289’s with it and that was without the performance package. It did have the post office package on it.

        rw,
I definitely don’t think the slant-six was a bad engine. I own two cars that have straight-sixes right now. Way back when they were new they got a lot of very positive press. And your experience with your Valiant proves that they are good engines!

It’s just that the big money at sale time follows the cars with the big V8s, so you have more financial leeway if you are restoring a big-V8 car than if you are doing a six.

looking at the pictures on ebay it looks like maybe 2 dart size cars from early 1970’s and 2 full size GM cars from the late 1950’s in the background. barn looks big enought ( aprox 36′ x ?? ) to hold a lot of interesting cars. great find

The nice thing about a 6 cyl is you can cut it up with no guilt.

MY ’69 CUDA STARTED OUT WITH THE SLANT SIX.BEING THE MOTORHEAD I WAS THAT DID NOT LAST A WEEK.I WENT TO THE TOWN GARAGE AND TOLD THE HEAD MECHANIC MY PLAN AND HE SAID HE JUST HAPPEN TO HAVE A COP CAR THAT MY COUSIN WRECKED IN A HIGH SPEED CHASE.IT HAD A 440 POLICE PACKAGE AND I BOUGHT THE WHOLE CAR FOR $400. THEN I BOUGHT A FOUR SPEED AND IT ALL FELL RIGHT INTO PLACE. ADD SOME GO FASTER GOODIES AND I HAD THE FASTEST CAR IN TOWN FOR A WHILE.I BECAME A MOPAR GUY AFTER HAVE THIS SWAP GO SO WELL.POINT BEING THE SLANT SIX IS NOT GOING TO STAY IN ANY CAR YOU GET FROM THERE AND THEY WILL PROBABLY GO REAL CHEAP SO YOUR AHEAD OF THE GAME WITH THE SIX.

I have seen these and others listed in my local craigslist many times. It seems no one is interested in them because all of them have “salvage” on the titles and no one wants the hassle of that.

Yeah i have also saw these on craigslist before. They had a few original hemi cars in there. I know they also had a few chargers. They might have sold those though.
