Possible Period Hot Rod: 1932 Ford Model B

Possible Period Hot Rod

This five window coupe has been stashed away since the seventies. Supposedly, it was fitted with a Chevy small block all the way back in 1958! This could be the basis for the perfect period hot rod build. The previous owner ripped it all apart in anticipation of their own build, but didn’t get very far. The body looks solid though and the sale includes a clear title. It’s located in Quakertown, Pennsylvania and is listed here on eBay where bidding is already up to $18,000 with only a few days left!

Ready To Rod

We would normally recommend a fiberglass body for most hot rod builds because it’s a shame to cut up nice original cars. If the history of this one is correct though, I don’t see anything wrong with dropping a V8 back in where it once was. Some guys like to chop, channel, and shave everything, but I’d want to recreate the look it most likely had in 1958. Stock body without fenders and skinny tires all around. The possibilities are limitless really, but people really like the period look with a few modern upgrades here and there. What route would you take though?

Build it like a Time-warped ’58, with all the HotRod period goodies that were available up to that year, ‘n the hardest part, stay true with no reproductions.. :)

Exactly what I would do, I would even leave it stock height , in other words don’t chop it.

I always thought ’31 was the last year for the Model A, and ’32 was the start of the Model B.

What a great starting platform. The only problem is to build it correctly it’s going to cost.

Looks just like the ’32 Model B I had in high school. Never heard of a ’32 Model A…. Nice start for a period street rod.

Now that’s how you sell a car.
    I didn’t miss a thing of what’s there,
even the perforations around the bottom were shown!
Over $24k with 12hrs. left, whew!
Trips on a flattie, modern brakes, and yes, YELLOW!
Now where is that ticket for tonight?
