Possible Survivor: 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1

Have you ever had to sell something for someone? That is the situation for this 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 that has a buy it now price of $25,000 or make an offer. The car has a clean title and a VIN is listed. Located in Fairfax Station, Virginia, this 120,000 mile car is listed by someone who does eBay better than the owner of the car. You can head over to eBay to find out more.

Thankfully there are quite a few photos of the engine posted in the listing. According to the post, it is a 351 Windsor that was recently rebuilt. The engine only has 200 miles on it. It has an automatic transmission, dual exhaust, a new radiator, brake and braking system, and a new fuel tank. There is no description or reason for any of the work listed, but it seems to indicate the car is driven and cared for.

There are quite a few photos of the interior as well. Nothing is listed regarding a restoration. It seems as though the interior is original, but it is incredibly hard to tell. There are some rips and tears in the seats but overall, it is in good condition. All the trim and dials seem to be in their proper places and even the carpets look plush, for however plush it can look from a photo. More details should be acquired about this car.

They, unfortunately, don’t have any photos of the front of the car. It doesn’t seem like they are hiding anything. The plates are visible on the back. But it seems odd that they do not have any front photos of the car. According to the listing the car has been garage kept for over 40 years. A phone number and name are listed to call with any questions. That is certainly a good thing and something you should consider doing if you are interested in this car.

Yep. The rust on the fender aprons and at the bottom of the passenger door (and probably the driver door) is a good indication of more severe rust.

It’s hard to make conjectures when we haven’t seen the underneath of the car. Just because the door has rust bubbles, that doesn’t mean the underside is rusty. I have had many 69 Mustangs and several of them never had any rust in them to even worry about. BTW, these cars are only going up in value.

That wing is definitely not original to that car! Too many questions for me to consider it, but doesn’t matter, it’s gone! I somewhat agree about the rust issues! Hopefully the new owner got pics of under it!

Back in high school, my best friend had a 69 Mach 1 that he had modified and he raced it on weekends at the local track. It ran consistent 12.50s with a 351W and an FMX automatic, and 3.91 gears. One weekend after I got my drivers license, we were at the track and he tossed me the keys and said to give it a go. I think I ran a high 13 ET with a reaction time measured in seconds… but it got me hooked on racing and performance cars.
