Preserved Performer: 1994 Dodge Viper R/T 10 with Just 12k Miles

Few cars scream raw American performance like the original Dodge Viper. Loud, unapologetic, and built with a back-to-basics approach, early Vipers are quickly becoming collector favorites, especially examples like this one. Offered for sale by its second meticulous owner of 14 years, this 1994 Dodge Viper R/T 10 shows just 12,423 original miles and remains in remarkable, near time-capsule condition. See it here on Craigslist in Holland, Michigan. Thanks to Tony Primo for the tip!

Finished in bold red, this first-generation Viper has never been tracked or in an accident, and it’s never even been driven in bad weather. The seller notes that the factory top and side windows have never been installed, they’re still in their original packaging. It’s the kind of detail that speaks volumes about how carefully this car has been stored and maintained.

The 8.0-liter V10 under the hood delivers the brutal, analog power the Viper is famous for, 400 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque routed through a 6-speed manual transmission. With no traction control or ABS, it demands respect, and that’s part of its charm. The car reportedly drives like new with no mechanical issues, and the factory A/C blows cold, which is no small bonus for these early cars.

While factory audio left a bit to be desired in the ‘90s, this Viper benefits from an upgraded sound system for improved driving enjoyment, though let’s be honest, the engine is still the star of the soundtrack.

Whether you’re a Viper collector, a Mopar enthusiast, or just someone who appreciates a brutally honest sports car, this well-kept R/T 10 is the real deal. Early Vipers are rapidly gaining traction among modern classics, and low-mile, well-preserved examples like this are becoming increasingly hard to find.

Would you keep it sealed up in a collection, or rip the plastic off those windows and drive it like it was built to be?

If you’re into Vipers, I’d say that this one is very favorably priced for its superb condition and mileage. The owner looks to be a car person, given the number of garage doors in the pictures, but then again, owning a Viper sort of makes that obvious too.

Some cars literally take your breath away when you see them for the first time in real life. The Viper did that for me.
