Project-Ready: 1967 Chevrolet Camaro

This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro is listed for sale here on craigslist. Located in Clinton, Massachusetts, it comes with a clean title. The seller has listed this Camaro with a price of $7,500. The seller of this particular car is very short on photos (only two) but provides a pretty fair description of the car. He states that it is essentially straight, but that there is a dent in the roof that should mostly pop out. He states that there is some rust in the passenger side floor, the windshield channel, the lower front fenders, and the lower rear quarter panels, but that all of the sheet-metals is original. All of the glass is also present except for the windshield.

As far as the interior is concerned the dash is complete, but the rear seat, door trims, and console are all missing. The seller gives no indication of the condition of the front seats. The car is fitted with a 327ci 2-barrel engine backed by a floor-shift automatic transmission. The engine is said to turn freely, but the seller has not attempted to start it. The car was last registered in 1983, so it is probably a reasonably safe assumption that it was probably the last fired-up at about that time. The minimum required would undoubtedly be a complete clean of the fuel system.

For me, the frustration with this Camaro is the lack of good photos. I would like to see how extensive the rust issues are because that would determine whether the seller is asking a fair price. I have tried enlarging the shots but I really can’t discern how extensive the rust is. If the rust isn’t too severe then the price might be quite reasonable as the basis for a project car.

Is that another Camaro in the garage? Kinda looks like it to me.

List it on e-bay no reserve and see how much it’s really worth

With the amount of leaves and debri on it,the
rear window bottom channel has to have rust.
It does look like body work has been attempted,
and there is a lot missing, way too much money
    for a regular Camaro…I can’t see it.?.,but there’s
    one born every minute..!

Why can’t some people spare a couple hours time to clean up
Vehicles, and take some half decent pics….,I know that every day is a struggle, and there’s never enough time,….but when asking double the price for something,….it should look it’s best..🤔

What is parked next to the shed? The car on offer is about an actual $1000.00.
    Maybe.

The car next to the shed is a mid or little later S10 Blazer. The car inside is, judging by the front suspension, a Chevy product, quite possibly another ’60’s Camaro.

This photo looks staged to me. With another Camaro in the “garage” perhaps this one for sale was the donor for the other one. Not a gag price. If the stick in the floor was a 4 spd manual — or even a 3 spd derivation — I’d be on this. Will the seller provide a drivers side door handle? Funny when I hear there is a roof dent I figure no care was given to the car in other areas as well. And truth be told, roof damage is not easy to fix without patience and experience. Could always put a vinyl top on it I suppose.

It’s all about the ‘staging’/authenticity of the “barn find”, right.

Leaving the termite eaten 2×4 laying on the car is gonna really bring in the money.

$7500 for this? I must be really out of touch anymore.

The seller says he owns a hot rod shop, yet he choose to include only these two pictures in the ad. That decision, by itself, tells you all you need to know about the cars condition.

750 is too much for this car. I’d like to say that barn finds is an entertaining place to visit on the Web I look at it everyday but maybe they should have some restraint when putting total garbage on their site for astronomical prices

I’m guessing by the 2nd photo that the jerk threw that stuff on top of the car just to be funny

      Look again.

There is a chain hanging off the back and s front loader parked on the street. This is likely a shot when it had just been dragged out. The other shot shows the roof of the garage, it suggests there are structural issues which helps explain the debris lying on the Camaro.

I looked at a falcon convertible in PA that the guy, a “restoration shop” owner, that said the car was solid. this thing was so rotten that he had square tubing welded to the underside to attach the front to the rear. Also, I sold the most rotten 67 camaro on fleabay for 3500, but it had paperwork. Sadly the guy did the camaro but lost the reg, Good luck, think the RR spring might be thru the floor. caveat Emptor.
