Located in Boise, Idaho, this 1969 Dodge Coronet 440 is believed to be 1 of 2,532 produced. The car is now sitting in a driveway waiting to be restored. The car is listed here on eBay with 2 days remaining in the auction. The Coronet 440 has been bid to $8,900. Dodge dropped the base Coronet in 1969 and offered three versions of the Coronet – the Coronet Deluxe, Coronet 440 and Coronet 500. Thanks go to Mike for sharing the tip!
The numbers matching 383 cubic inch V8 engine with a 2 barrel carburetor still resides under the hood. Power is transferred to the rear gears via a column shifted A727 automatic transmission. The seller believes that he is the 4th owner of this 51 year old car. It left the factory painted in Code Y4 Gold Poly with a black vinyl interior.
This Coronet 440 was well optioned and was equipped with air conditioning, power steering and brakes, 3-speed variable wipers, body side moldings, bumper guards and an AM radio. The seller has traced the history of the car from ownership in California, Nevada and Idaho. The car has some surface rust and it appears to have been repaired due to an accident at some point in its history.
The front windshield is missing and the dash is cracked. The car will also need a new dash, front seat, headliner and armrest. This body style was only produced form 1968 to 1970. The Coronet 440 could be ordered in a 2-door hardtop, 4-door sedan and station wagon configuration. I am surprised that the bidding has gotten to where it is based on the work that this car needs but more power to whoever gets this gold nugget back on the road.
Yes it’s in better shape many shown here and could possibly be made into a very nice restomod with a 440 or Hemi, at maybe $2k. But of course, being a Mopar, it’s already at almost $9k with 2 days left in the auction.
Clean bodied big block B-body’s that need minimal rust repair haven’t been $2,000 for close to 20 years. Buyers have to pay up in the short term to save time and money on the back end.
The bidding has reached $8,900 without meeting reserve. That’s optimistic, if I were the seller I’d be more than happy take the current high bid and move on.

Nice Coronet. Curious though, why, if the car was painted in Gold Poly is the interior floor painted in a metallic light green?
Dodge did not paint the car floors one color and the body a second color.
Something odd going on here.
I think the tined glass is making the floor look green
That A pillar and fire wall rot is troubling. If not repaired right could be a safety issue. Some Mopar guy will snap it up anyway.
Looks pretty damn solid. I think that rot is just the dash top. The windshield channel looks way better than usual. Cool car. Hope it gets put back to the way it was, wheel covers, vinyl top and all. Too bad these more pedestrian cousins have even gotten too rich for me.
SOLD for $9,800.
I have the exact same car, mine has manual brakes and the color is triple green F8
