With roughly 500 or so ever built and many of them being convertible, this 1979 Cadillac Seville Milan coupe is sure to garnish attention wherever it goes. This somewhat strange proportioned coupe can be had for $5,600 or you can make an offer. According to the listing, the car has 32,000 original miles and a clean title. A VIN is also noted in the listing. If you are interested in placing an offer, you can view more on eBay.
This car has a 350 cubic-inch V8 under the hood that is connected to an automatic transmission. Sadly, but as is all too common, the car has been sitting for over a decade. The seller notes that the engine and transmission are “good” but they don’t really specify if it runs or drives. They do note that the air conditioning and all other options work, so that is a good sign it does run. A list of mechanical to-dos is also noted.
Not much is mentioned about the interior. Based on the photos, it does not appear to be beyond repair. A day spent detailing and cleaning and the red leather will be shining bright. The trunk still retains the red carpet it left the factory with. A clear indication this was meant to be luxurious. While it has not remained a status symbol over the years, it still holds a presence that would garnish a second look for passersby.
There is one minor question within the listing about the location of the car. The seller provided Orland Park, Illinois in the listing, but in the description says the car is located somewhere in Kentucky. Make sure to clear that up before purchasing. This coupe does look a little more disproportionate than the convertible models, but that adds to the charm of the car. It might not be for everyone, but it is fun to see and appreciate when they do come around for sale.
That is one *odd* looking duck. Perhaps the droptop might be a bit more appealing.
“garnish” or “garish”, that is the question….
I believe “garner” was the word the author was going for.
Nope.
Yup
Vomit on wheels
Moving “roughly 500” I’d say is a great example of the power of the brand. I am surprised Cadillac was able to sell that many!
As far as I recall, Cadillac had nothing to do with this, except to build the cars that were sliced and diced for this, well, “creation.”
I saw one or two in SoCal when they were new. That was enough.
Kill it with fire.
For that kind of money I can get an entire Seville.
If you squint properly, it sort of looks like an altered wheelbase gasser. Just missing the straight front axle.
Wouldn’t take if for free.
Looks like the love child of a Seville and Smart Car…!
Like a homely Buick Regal.
Take 2 Seville’s, cut the back seat out of one and add it to the other. What do you get, this mess and a stretch limo…..both fugly.
Please tell me this is photoshopped
I had never seen a hard top. Only convertibles at auctions. Believe it or not, there is a following. But not me..
Is that real? Not a custom? Why?
I think it needs one more cut. Cut about a foot out of the trunk and move the tail lights/bumper in and reattach. It would suddenly be more proportional. Then paint it black with red pinstripes.
I just bought it, love it!
It’s so ugly, it’s art:)
Should be a fun car. Provided it was well-bought, a cool ‘look-at-me’ sort of thing. Plenty of parts available. Enjoy!
Good for you, alex. Let us see what it looks like cleaned up.
Alex this would look much better with a shorter quarter panel behind the rear wheel you should section out about a foot of that back swing. Good luck with it and enjoy.
No. Nay. Nix.
A disgusting thing to do to a once beautiful car.
The 1970’s saw some great custom bodied cadillacs, Mirage, caribou, custom wagons and probably the most beautiful Cadillac Seville, The San Remo (four seat convertible Seville) Just stunning beautiful cars. These Milan Coupes and Convertibles have never looked correct to me
It’s going to the Netherlands, we love ugly cars:)
I drive a BMW 3 series Compact model over here, hard to beat in ugliness but now i found one!
I am actually really liking it, it has all the luxury you want but not an inch more you need as a car
Alex, perhaps if you cut about 3 feet out of the rear you could end up with a bustleback, a really short one, now that would be ugly.
The addition of a full quarter glass might improve the look, but not enough to make it attractive.
Alex…enjoy your new addition. It is nice to find a lover.
I could’ve sworn this would be located in Florida.
Looks like the Caddy was a favorite to modify.

Nothing wrong that a Rumble Seat couldn’t fix.
I guess it proves the adage to never wash an ugly car before selling it…
