Grounds for Divorce, sounds like a accurate name for it.
I know a couple times in my married life I have brought home a car, that well let say Mommy wasn’t happy!!!!!
And you know what they say, “If the Mommy ain’t Happy, Nobody is Happy”

If Mommy ain’t happy then it’s time for a new Mommy! They don’t ask for our permission when they buy new clothes and they definitely wouldn’t sell them on if we ain’t happy.

The first picture of the write up shows it at the track.

It is a race car, but probably hasn’t seen a track in a couple of decades. There are a lot of 1980’s and early-90’s parts visible in the pictures. There are more than a few old race cars sitting in the backs of garages and shops, they were often parked due to work or family obligations. I wouldn’t be surprised if the seller is recently bought the car, possibly from an estate sale, that would help explain the lack time slips and other background information about the car.

Race cars are inexpensive, well built competitive turn key cars that are still actively raced can be bought in range of $10,000 to $15,000. This car will need significant updating before it sees the track, new seat belts, tires, fuel lines, etc. It is a desirable body style, but that only goes so far.

I wonder if this is an original L-79 Nova, that would be kinda cool. This is what they were meant for, Grumpy Jenkins had a terror like this back in the golden era of drag racing. Very quick car, 327 Nova can really lay it down when tweaked and set up right. Pricey to say the least.

Supposedly very few L79s were built for ’67, some websites claim maybe only 6 or 7, and those supposedly used left over blocks from ’66. Too bad the Generals record keeping sucked back then.

Right on regarding Grumpy plus he was a gear slammer. I purchased and owned a Lemonwood Yellow ’66 Chevy II “SS” L-79, M-21,12 bolt with 3:73s. Bought it from the original owner in 1989 with the Protect-O-Plate and other original documentation. That is the only way I knew it was legit.
