When it comes to classic trucks, the bigger and heavier the duty the better! This Highboy is one massive truck that’s said to be a factory built highboy. The paint is looking a little tired, but it gives it a unique look. This rig is ready to roll and can be found here on eBay in Manheim, Pennsylvania.
Asking Price: $18,900
Location: Manheim, Pennsylvania
Mileage: 78.718
Title Status: Clean
VIN: F26YRK40868
Seller’s Description: 1971 Ford F-250 Sport Custom Highboy with 78,718 original miles. It’s a factory built highboy that has spent its entire life in Washington State. It was owned by one family for all but one year of its life. It was passed down from father to son to grandson. They used it exclusively as their recreational vehicle which explains the low original mileage and excellent condition.
Body Condition: Super solid survivor rig. The body and floors are rust-free. There is some very minor surface rust in a couple of areas on the bed floor. The undercarriage/frame is very solid with only minor/normal and very minimal surface rust in some areas. All the sheet metal is original and straight. This is a strong patina truck that looks great. The seafoam green with brown patina really work for the truck and the pics do not even do it justice. This truck always turns heads, everybody loves it.
Mechanical Condition: This truck was very well maintained and it shows. Everything works as it should. It drives like you would expect a 78k original mile f-250 highboy would. It starts up immediately and goes right into a smooth and steady idle. It runs, drives, shifts, steers, and stops beautifully. The 4×4 works great. The exhaust is good. All the glass is good. The tires are good. It has aluminum American racing wheels.

I wish I was rich instead of incredibly good looking then this BEAUTIFUL truck would be in my driveway !
Seriously…$18,900? 3 month ago I sold a 72 F250 High Boy with zero and I mean 0 rust, also from Washington State, in pretty close to the same condition (the interior was red instead of green), also to a guy in Pennsylvania, for $5,500. Spent two months trying to sell it for $7,500 with no interest at all. Very curious to see what this actually sells for.
A big 71 long bed Ford 4×4, I’m definitely in love but car poor at the moment.
Nice truck but not worth 19k.
We had one on the ranch. It was a good truck for the most part but I have to say that the 360 engine was somewhat of a dog compared to the 352 we had in the ’67 we traded for it. Of course the axle ratio in the ’67 was a 4.56 of 4.88 because it was revving pretty high at 60 mph. I tweaked the 360 with a Holley 500 2bbl carb, a re-curved ignition and dual exhausts. It was a different truck after that. Funny thing though: it still fell short of the ’67….
Not a fan of the scuffed up paint especially at this price point. For this much money, it should be very close to the same condition it was in when ole’ Henry’s company rolled it out the door.
Had a ’71 Ford 3/4 ton long box pickup
back in ’81. Although it wasn’t a highboy,
it was still a great truck that had a 302 V-8 mated to a 3-speed tranny. Tried to teach my wife how to drive a stick using
that truck. I gave up after a few days of
getting my head thrown backwards by
all the leapfrogging she did while trying
to learn how to drive it. Both my wife and
the truck have been gone a long time now, so seeing this truck brought back a
lot of great memories for me. Thanks
guys, keep ’em coming!
Looks like the Grandson was a millennial with not so bright ideas and a big bundle of Scotch-Brite. I curse the inventor of the patina fad.
Repaint, maintain, drive, use for work, and
repeat! Love the vintage CB along with
all the original equipment on this truck.
But I’m confused as to just whst engine
is in it. Looks like the 302 in my old truck
but I’m not sure. The engine layout looks
like my old ’71 but the air cleaner is confusing to me. Great old truck–would
love to be its caretaker!
That is not a 302. You can tell it is an FE engine, 352, 360, 390, by the fact that the intake manifold extends under the valve covers.
Those are not 1971 mirrors.
agreed, sompin fishy goin on (in the description, not pic, plenty of them).
& what’s a D24 (transfer’s tag)?
