Seller’s Description: This vehicle is special as it represents the first year that the 300zx was offered for sale and it was quite a departure from the previous generation of Z cars thanks mostly to its VG30 V6 engine.Prior to this all Z cars were powered by an inline 6 cylinder engine. Additionally, during the first few months of production all Z31’s were produced with a non t-top roof and during the remainder of the production run the t-top roof would be the most common configuration. This car also has its original window sticker and a maintenance logboook dating from the original purchase date on 12/20/83 through present day.
Body Condition: The body is mostly solid with a few rust spots. It features original paint in the dark red metallic paint code #329. With some time and effort this car could be made roadworthy again.
Mechanical Condition: Overall the mechanical condition is good having received two timing belt replacements at 81k and 171k respectively. Given the number of years since the last timing belt I would recommend replacement. Currently the engine will start and run but the car will overheat as it comes up to running temperature. There is no smoke or any untoward noises and I suspect that the car needs one or more of the following: radiator, thermostat, fan clutch. The clutch and transmission work well although I would want to replace the clutch hydraulics.

How could a car overheat in 5 minutes? It probably has a stuck thermostat.
In my neck of the woods that’s a very good price provided the underside is solid. I think these are undervalued at this point in time, but their day will come. GLWTS.
I drove my brother in law’s 84′ turbo 300zx before, fast + handled great , it had the electronic suspension set up + the sexy female computer voice, they made them change the voice after complaints it sounded too sexy! This cars not too far from me either…… Pity I don’t have my garage built yet!
Nice for 1400
Del, do yo think so?
It overheats in 5 minutes and has a huge amount of rust. That is what it looked like in the pictures to me.
