It’s about $15 grand too high. You can get a new one for that kind of money.

Nice, but nowhere near 35K nice, even with the low mileage.

It’s overpriced but having had a few of these I don’t think he is over 6 or 8 grand too high. “Only”. 6 or 8K.
I have friends with new ones and I’ve always turned my nose up at them. Anyone here owned both and could offer a comparison?

Having had both, I appreciate that new ones ride, shift, and get better fuel economy. That being said, I love smell, ride and simplicity of the old CJ series

I own both, a 76 CJ7 and a 2017 wrangler sahara. ride wise there is no comparison. the new jeeps also have pretty darn good resale value. For an everyday vehicle the new jeep all day long. for that nostalgic ride the old one has much more charm. If you are not going to do “jeep things” with them the novelty kinds of wears off after a while for suburban use for either of them. My wife begged for the wrangler and after a year she is over it.

$3K in recent receipts for a Jeep with only 10K original miles???? Hmmmm….
Still, I agree, WAY too much $ for it.

This Jeep is 32 years old so even if it’s low mileage, it would need a lot of work to be road worthy. Hoses crack, gaskets leak, and grease dries out and it all costs money to make right again.

I’ve had a twin to this but with about 90k miles, also ‘88 YJ (rectangular headlights), ‘99 TJ, ‘07 JK 4 door and currently ‘15 JK 4 door. With all that said, i love the looks and simplicity of the CJ by far especially the Laredo trim but they aren’t great to drive, the ‘15 JK has plenty of power and drives about as good as any late model SUV albeit not as plush and smooth, the 07 3.8 was a slug, and 88 was junk from previous abuse. Personally I think the TJ is a good blend of old and new for a diehard Jeep fan but the new 3.6 JK is a great ‘fun’ vehicle but I don’t use it as a daily.

Haven’t had any seat time in the newly released JL generation but hear nothing but good things about them except the price!

A non-working radio? in a $35K Jeep with “only” 10K miles that needs $3K in services? I pass.
    It’s $25K too high IMHO

For $35 K I would go to the local Jeep dealership and get a new Grand Cherokee

Love it, but way too much $$$$. I’ve had several Jeeps in the past. This one is within distance for me but not at that price!

Ultra-low mile CJ’s can be worth this but have to be original from the factory: original paint, striping, interior, wheels, bumpers and accessories. This includes no modifications (cuts/holes, etc.) to the factory dash or body and preferably an antenna in the factory location.

I have been looking at the pics since posted at Old Forge. This is a nice Jeep but not the best-of-the-best. It has ultra-low mileage which can’t be replicated, the interior is near perfect, most desirable Laredo package, rare color combo, and tail end of CJ production. Unfortunately, it has been partially restored and has many issues: aftermarket too-wide fender flares, replacement striping, black vent cover, wrong color painted top, that CB antenna mount and more. These issues are mostly fixable but probably keep it from reaching the $30,000 mark. Maybe something in the mid-$20’s and then fix everything possible.

I love them old CJ-7’s, I would be happy with a 6 banger that wasn’t all rusted say about a 78 or 79. Stock is better than all tricked out. It is difficult to determine the quality of someone else’s work unless it is really bad and visible from the get go. I wouldn’t be interested in a rock crawler, if a standard jeep with 4WD can’t get there I don’t need to go there. LOL If I did I would just hike the rest of the way.
