READER AD: Low Mile 1994 Chevy Silverado K3500

Reader Matthew B has owned this beast of a Chevy Silverado for the past 15 years and while it’s been a great truck, he just doesn’t have room for it. Rather than leave it outside, he’s decided it needs a new home and hopes it will end up with a fellow Barn Finder. It looks like it would be a great tow rig to haul finds home with. If you’d love to give this truck a good home, be sure to take a closer look at Matthew’s ad via the link below.

Asking Price: $6,200
Location: Denver, Colorado
Mileage: 108,631
Title Status: Clean
VIN: 1GCHK33N6RJ414638

Seller’s Description: Low mileage survivor! Has been used for towing RV campers. Largely original. I bought it on 11/02/03 when odometer read 90,950. I’ve only put 17,681 miles on it in 15 years. It never fit in my garage but I always kept the tires and interior covered. Interior is nearly immaculate, no rips tears, stains or dashboard cracks( see pictures). Can you believe it has the original AM/FM cassette radio? Also real wood interior trim.

Body Condition: Paint on passenger side very good. Driver side cab area has the wonderful GM paint fade. No rust or dents. New windshield. Has small fiberglass damage on driver’s side rear fender. 10,000lb hitch, wired for RV, Tekonsha in-cab electric brake modulator. 19 pictures on Craigslist. More pictures are available upon request.

Mechanical Condition: Has fuel injected 454 V8. Starts and runs great. New alternator and, power steering pump. Currently registered and emission tested in Colorado. Automatic with 4×4. Shifts easily into 4xhigh and 4xlow. Transmission shifts smoothly. Handles well on the highway. Handles even better with some weight in the bed.

Good price, but this is used-car market fodder. Nothing special.

I think it certainly has a place here. A lot of us use trucks to haul around our rusty money pits, therefore the right audience.

This is a great alternative to the 6-figure new equivalent.

      Nice truck.

Bring a gas card! Most trucks this age have odometers that read in light-years.

Yeah. That’s the trouble with Craigslist ads, they don’t stay posted for very long before being taken down. It doesn’t give people, potential buyers, or just browsers, a chance to look at the ad.

Or how about a Duramax 6.6 litre turbo diesel engine. It would deliver more than enough towing power, while also giving better than average fuel economy when *not* towing. :)

Very nice truck, but,,don’t let that pretty outside fool you. Underneath it’s all straight truck, and without 2 pallets of shingles in the back, it’s ride is terrible. Guy I rented from had a newer truck like this. The ride empty was actually quite annoying.

      THIS!

I still occasionally drive a 2011 Chevy 3500 Dually standard cab for towing. Rough ride would be an understatement. The best trip for comfort ever was with two engines on pallets in the bed. Enough weight to push the springs down a bit.

I have an 80 C3500 dually (winter project) but it’s a crewcab and I think it’s the extra long wheelbase, but it’s a decently smooth ride. Whereas my Ram 3500 extended cab dually rattles the teeth on occasion.

Some reader or someone else apparently already snatched it up! I couldn’t really look at barnfinds until this evening! Darn, like the old saying goes, if you snooze you loose! I would have bought it for sure!
