Ready to Drive! 1963 Dodge Power Wagon

This is a beast of a truck! Dodge Power Wagons have been produced off and on for over sixty years, beginning during World War II. In fact, you can buy a 2020 Power Wagon today, although it will set you back a bit more than this 1963 model. Currently listed here on eBay with a current bid around $7,100, the reserve hasn’t been met yet. The ad says this truck has spent its whole life in Nebraska and currently resides in Omaha. It has great patina and looks like a fun and unique project to own. Take a look for yourself at this awesome ride!

The seller says they believe this engine is the original 318 that is mated to a 3-speed transmission. The front hubs feature Warn lock-outs, which is a nice feature. The gas tank has been cleaned out and a new fuel line has been installed. There have been a lot of parts replaced including the alternator, carburetor, fuel pump, battery, fan belt, plugs, wire harness, and brake parts. Also, the driveshafts have been balanced, which is great for any highway driving.

The ad says the original bench seat is in great shape. I would bet it has been re-covered at some point. The seller says the glass is perfect and the windows function like new. The dash is unaltered except for a CB radio. All the gauges work great along with the shifter and transfer case levers.

Overall, this is a really cool old truck. You don’t see as many Dodges from this era as you do Chevys and Fords, so this one will definitely get attention wherever it goes. Hopefully, it will find a new owner that will enjoy it for years to come. It seems like a lot of the work has been done and the truck is ready to go. What do you think about this one?

Once again, Barrett Jackson dreams and suckers with bid paddles will win over on just another farm truck.

From when trucks were trucks, a tool with four wheels.
No mistaking that interior for a luxury car unlike nowadays.
Great old ride here but she’ll beat you silly.

    Total dude truck.
Would’nt surprise me if some movie / music video car rental company swooped in and bought it. Looks like it belongs in a country music video about drinkin’ n’ fightin’ n’ breakin’ up with your girl. Personally…I’d stretch it few inches and weld an extended cab in. Fix the body and paint it matte nickel with orange accents.Sound…infotainment…climate. Warn winch bumper…old school manual searchlights on driver and passenger side.Rework the suspension…but keep the same ride height and stance. Then drop the 707hp Hellcat engine in that sucker.

To complete the period correct “dude” truck theme all it needs is a rifle rack in the back window with a couple of bolt action rifles or even a lever action 30-30, maybe 870’s depending on the season. Everything else is good but the Hellcat, kinda greasy looking 383 magnum is more power than this old truck, or maybe the people driving it, could handle. All fun, have a good one.

Not to nit pick, but the engine looks more like an A-series motor than a poly 318. 1963 should be a Poly, but whatever is there it’ll be good.

The A block 318 had poly heads.

Yumpin’ Yiminey! Sale ended at $TEN GRAND,,,and some. For the life of me, I can’t understand why these were never popular. You saw 100 Ford and Chevy’s for one Dodge. I think I saw more Studebaker trucks. Not sure why. This blows me away, a new level of foolishness. $10g’s for this rattletrap? Have fun with that, new owner. A $2-$3 grand truck tops.

Clearly it’s a 10k truck as that’s what it was bid to in an auction.

As I recall a 1963 318 V- 8 engine did not come out of the factory with a blue painted engine with a “704” last three digit engine part number label on the drivers side valve cover.

If John Wayne were a truck I’m guessing this is what he’d look like. My Father had a plow/service truck almost identical to this at his gas station. What a beast!

That is a post 66 LA small block. In fact, much newer if its the factory paint.
    A 63 would be the A 318.

If the actor John Wayne were a truck or if he wanted a truck for his ranch he would be a DODGE POWER WAGON and nobody would mess with him!!!!!!!!
