Ready To Work: 1936 International Pickup

left-front-9

International introduced the model D trucks in 1936. The design is a more modern appearance than the squared off design of the Model C it replaced. This old pickup listed on craigslist just looks cool, at least to some of us old folks! At today’s prices, $14,000 might seem overpriced. It appears to be an older restoration. There’s not much information provided except that it is original and it runs. It’s located in Central Point, Oregon.

Inside it looks very clean and original.

More details about the truck and more pictures of the engine would be helpful. If this is as nice as it appears in the pictures and it runs well, this could be a great driver. It looks like there is no additional work needed but there are likely several things that will need sorting. It looks like a really noice truck, will probably have to be priced a lot lower than $14,000 to find a buyer. What do you think someone will be willing to pay for this old pickup truck?

    I don’t know, orange wheels?
    I’d do love the style.

What would someone pay? I checked on NADA, they list average retail at $12,400 with a 100 pointer going for $19,200. I think it is worth 10k, if it runs and drives as is.

Tip of the hat to whoever could drive this with orange rims… I sure don’t have the cojones. I’d match them to the fenders… and immediately think up something I need at the nearest lumber yard.

Hmm… or would the body color look better?

Keep them orange but would have to come down into the 9 to 10k range before I would take it seriously.

Love it, but ditch the whitewalls if it’s a working truck.

    I’d like vintage spoke wheels.

I’d need more info and photos showing the engine and chassis. It doesn’t appear to be a museum or top quality show vehicle. My offer would fall somewhere at $7500 to $10,000, all depending on a more detailed description of the resto and overall condition of this truck.
