Real Barn Find: 1972 Ford Big Cow Truck

People have debated for years about what makes a “barn find” authentic. Some believe that it has to actually come out of a wooden barn to be the real deal. Well, we have one for those purists among us. There is no denying this barn find’s pedigree. It is a 1972 Ford Big Cow truck and it has obviously just stepped out the barnyard and onto the street. Take a look at the eBay auction here where bidding starts at $15k. A special thanks goes to Jim S. for the submission.

Standing at over 13 feet high, this could be the tallest find we have ever featured. It took over 2,300 man hours to construct and has a beautiful patina that could never be replicated. Luckily, there are a few strobe lights mounted up top to prevent collisions with low-flying aircraft. It is sure to stand out among all those fake “barn finds” on the street.

You will want to bring along your friends because there is seating for three and a nice stereo complete with milk jug speakers. When you get bored with that you could always press the buttons that make the cow milk itself or moo on command. Ice cream freezers and high-velocity bubble blowers also came standard on this model so it is sure to draw some attention. In fact, we are thinking of picking this one up ourselves to use as the new Barn Finds mascot. What do you guys think?

I’m pretty sure this thing is based on a TUG Belt Loader used to load baggage into air liners.

These things used a Ford I-6 for many years.

For $15k you can buy 20 head of cattle that actually produce income – $1500 is a realistic price.

1500 the bigcow cost about 70 times more than that to build , but the secret with this cow is it has a freezer system and can sell ice cream pretty sure it can make a lot more than 20 head of cattle. The first day out it made more than double in sales than the low value you placed on it and it is a lot more fun than dealing with 20 herd of cattle

Reminds me of one in front of the steakhouse where I grew up, except ours was on a trailer. We use to “borrow” it from time to time and park it in peoples driveways.

I am looking for a particular Divco. It’s from the early 50s and came from NJ. It belonged to the Dermer Farms Dairy New Brunswick NJ, there were 3. Sold off when the farm went out of biz in the late 50s. I am hoping one might still be around with our Family name on it ( I was a year old at the time and just found out we used them less than a week ago) I sure would like to have one or at the least see one. Any help?
