Restored and Ready: 1969 Chevy Corvette Coupe

Few cars combine style, muscle, and American heritage quite like a chrome-bumper C3 Corvette. This 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe, listed here on eBay and located in the U.S., is a matching-numbers example with a frame-off restoration completed in 2005. Still showing only 87,000 miles and reportedly driven very little since, it’s offered with a clean title and a long list of desirable factory options. If you’re seeking a collector-grade Corvette that’s ready for show or sunny-day cruising, this one might be worth a closer look. Thanks for the tip Curvette!

Finished in bright yellow over black interior, this Corvette sports the early C3 styling that includes the iconic chrome front and rear bumpers, features that disappeared in later years due to evolving safety regulations. The car rides on fresh F70-15 Coker redline tires for that classic period-correct look, mounted to what appear to be factory-style Rally wheels.

Power comes from its original 350 cubic inch V8, rated at 300 horsepower and mated to a Turbo Hydra-Matic 400 automatic transmission. The seller confirms this is a numbers-matching drivetrain, which is a key factor for collectors. Factory equipment includes air conditioning, power steering, and power windows, luxuries that make this Corvette more comfortable for long drives without sacrificing its sporting pedigree.

The seller notes the car was subject to a full frame-off restoration in 2005, and that it has been garage-kept and covered since. Although it’s been nearly two decades since that work was completed, it appears the car has been used sparingly, and everything remains in excellent condition according to the listing. They also mention that everything was either rebuilt or replaced during the restoration, and that it “runs and drives like new.”

While photos tell more of the story, the seller’s confidence in the mechanical condition and the level of restoration work suggest this Corvette could be a very turnkey option for someone who wants a classic with both visual impact and drivability. The yellow paint and redline tires make for a bold combination that will stand out at car shows or local cruise-ins.

Whether you’re drawn to its clean lines, matching-numbers originality, or the promise of turnkey classic performance, this ’69 coupe offers an attractive blend of restoration quality and everyday usabilit

The “Joan Didion vibe” has some allure; I think this is Daytona Yellow and not the more subdued Butternut Yellow. I don’t know how the Didion car was configured though it seems probable it was the 350-300/TH400 combo and because she later traded the Corvette on a Volvo station wagon, presumably the speed warning indicator would have been thought superfluous.

“It’s an image that’s burned into our cultural memory: Joan Didion, perched aloofly behind the wheel of her 1969 Corvette Stingray, a cigarette dangling from her fingers.”

The above quote is from a Road and Track article upon her death. It was a 1969 in Daytona Yellow.

        Funny – I can’t “like” it but I can make a reply …

This is the corvette as a GT car not the fire breathing monster the 427/435hp cars were. This was the corvette you could drive every day and not have to spend a lot on gas and insurance. Very nice car here, we’ll see where the bids end up but $40k is not a bad price if it’s as represented.

    SOLD for $33,995.

Kind of high for a 350 auto in yellow, IMO.
But, at least the new owner should not have to worry about much if the body off (not frame off) restoration was done correctly.
