From Rick V – I sighted this 1970 Porsche 911T last year while taking a different route home. After a few weeks, I was able to purchase it. This has always been my dream car and I’m so happy I found it. It had been sitting for a few years and we’re slowly working through the problems to get it back on the road. It’s a number matching car, converted to RHD in the 80s, after being imported to Australia from San Francisco USA. Thanks for the emails, I love reading them everyday.
Congrats to Rick on his find and thanks for sharing it with us. I hope he will keep us posted with his progress as he revives this 911! It goes to show, you never know when the find of your dreams will turn up. If you’ve been on the hunt for said find, stay at it, it might just popup here on Barn Finds! Oh and be sure to send your Roadside Sightings to us at mail@barnfinds.com.
WOW! Someone buy’s a car because they want it, they love it, and the want to take care of it , and drive it. What’s wrong with them? Don’t they know about flipping?
IT’S ALL ABOUT MONEY! IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CAR, ITS ALL ABOUT GREED. HOW MUCH CAN I MAKE ON THIS CAR?
Different priorities. I would not necessarily define that as greed.
Joe,
I really hope that was sarcasm.
Joe sounds very bitter. Probably because he hasn’t found a car like that. Sounds like jealousy to me.
MH, I’m jealous too!
These are the kinds of stories I love to see! They make up for all the 356-shaped hunks of rust and the other detritus passed off as “rare collectibles.”
I’ve found plenty of cars on my bucket list, but have never yet been able to seal the deal. My hat’s off to those who do. Makes me think there’s always a chance the right one will come along….
There are few cars that deliver as much pleasure as an early 911. I love to look at ’em, but have always preferred to drive ’em when I’ve gotten the chance. I’m sure Rick V will enjoy his even more!
I sold my 1970 911T sunroof w dealer a/c Cali car last year.I am seriously depressed but happy for Rick V. Lucky So and So :)
I own one like this and I bought it exactly for Rick V’s reasons. But limited time and a baby stoped me from getting it ready to enjoy and now I can’t make up my mind ….. selling…restoring it … performing a minimal restoration to sell ………..what shall I do? Any suggestions?
