The “shop truck” theme has been very popular for quite a while. In some people’s minds, it has been overdone. I think they are still cool when they are done well, but as with most anything that is popular, the neatness fades over time. This particular 1969 Chevrolet Pickup has the shop truck theme with hand-painted graphics that are done really well. It is being sold by Classic Auto Sales in San Clemente, California and can be found here on eBay with a current bid over $13,000. From looking at their website, it appears they also have a square-body Chevy pickup for sale done as a shop truck/work truck as well. Take a closer look at this truck, it is really well done!
The engine is your basic 350 cubic inch V8 with an automatic transmission. It does feature a few go-fast goodies like headers, and aftermarket intake with 4bbl carburetor. Gasses escape through Flowmaster mufflers and dual (side exit) exhaust. You can also see a power brake booster, which really helps these old trucks.
The ad describes the interior as “new.” It doesn’t call out any specific new parts other than it has a Bluetooth stereo. You can see it features a nice bench seat, standard gauges and aftermarket steering wheel. Overall, clean, simple, and functional like a shop truck should be.
The peak of the hood features a hand-painted flying eyeball in the Von Dutch style. Overall, the graphics have been really well done and the color scheme with the red base coat works well together. So what do you think of this shop truck? Do you like them or would you rather have a “standard” paint job?
Did Barn Finds ever get a shop truck? Got BF’s written all over it. Very nice!
This is a nice truck and the original paint job isn’t a rusty patina that everyone passes off!! This truck is a get in and drive kind of truck!! The price point isn’t crazy either!!
I would necessarily believe the signage on the truck is authentic.

I dunno. I can get behind a shop truck from an actual shop. Not really a fan of guys with a shop truck but the shop is their 2 car home garage though. But that’s just my two cents. Just don’t get mad if I’m meh about it, ya know.
It has the 71/72 front clip as the bumper, grill and hood which are not correct for a 69. The front bumper also does not align with the bottom of the grill, there is quite a gap on the passenger side. It makes me wonder if it has accident damage especially when you consider the California VIN plate that was added. Overall, it is in the fair market value for these trucks.
alot ta like (but the steer wheel & cleared over patina).
I put quite a few mi on the very same ’69 short bed step side truck (4 WD, 3 or 4 speed, farmer green) on the acreage (cross fenced, board’n post 15 mi by hand, sno plow and big huge blower) back in early 80s. Real rep of The USA vehicle !
I rip all the visual tags offa my clothing (adverts) so this 1…
Auto’s fine (by me) ona street truck, not wrk tho
Went all out on the fuel line
Started life as a 1971 white with blue interior 127′ wheelbase 3/4 ton truck, according to SPID label in glove box. I would bet that is where the cab came from. Also explains the added assigned VIN from California DMV. Pieced together truck, that is for sure.
The best looking shop truck I have
seen to this day was a body shop’s shop truck that I worked for. A silver blue metallic 1959 El Camino with bed side rails and no signs or crazy decals, just classy!
